My friend is building me a gaming pc, my budget is $1,000. Can I play the following.

Gta 5 modded

Fallout 4 heavily modded on high, with I am planning on making settlements similar size to EvilViking13

Skyrim on high, heavily modded (like 200 mods)

The witcher 3 on high

Can I play all of these games, if so, can I get 60 fps

(the 1,000 is for the computer itself only, I have a separate budget for the monitor, keyboard, etc.)

USD? For sure. Will run all that no issue.

Yeah 1000 is more than enough (pre-tax)

Core i5 processor - $185

Socket 1150 mobo - <$100

Case - <$100

550W PSU - $60

16 GB (8GB x 2 sticks) DDR 3 memory - $70

GTX 1070 - $450

That comes out to just under 1000 dollars, but pre-tax and pre-shipping. You can easily reduce costs by going with an AMD video card and processor, but if this is the only build you are going to be doing for a while, you might as well go all-in.

Out of curiosity, what is your current setup like? It might be that all you need to do is drop in a new video card, and you don't need an entirely new build.

You might want to add an optical drive and an operating system to that

@Born_Lucky: You can get legit copies of Windows 10 for cheap from 3rd party resellers. As for optical drive, you don't really need one these days. You can install windows via flash drive. I got one when I bought my PC half a year ago and I have regretted the decision. It was a waste of money.

I'm planning a build that costs about $700, and benchmarks say it should play all those games on high+ settings at 1080p 60fps.

A $1000 build will play all new games beautifully.

@mrbojangles25:

I don't see a hard-drive on your setup. He need that too.

lol woops you are totally correct. OK that puts it at about 1000 even then (HDDs are cheap). Though I would totally recommend a small SSD or even an M.2 drive (I just got me one...AMAZING!) for the OS

These provides awesome visual experience

Then you need an awesome headphone or speaker for audio. Then it's more than $1,000
