Seen PES a few times mentioned on gaming forums, it's a rival soccer game series to Electronic Arts Fifa.

Wouldn't be popular in your region compared to football n' the sort; though pretty popular globally.

@davillain-: PES 4 = Pro Evolution Soccer 4.

Surprised you ever heard of PES 4. Pro Evolution Soccer was at in its prime in the 2000s. Global superstars Thierry Henry and Francesco Totti on the front cover are pure legends.

I literally played it last on N64...and enjoyed it! But I don’t think I’ve bought a sports game since then lol

@wolfpup7: Never really followed sport games.

Speed Ball 2 is a game I've played a lot; which is a twisted version of football. Focus on being a death sport with very game appealing features that wouldn't fit into a simulator trying to reflect reality.

Also Fire Pro I suppose, but wrestling isn't a sport. Nor is making Pickle Rick fight Miku Hatsune chan at all a sport. Great game regardless if you are into Beat em' Up gameplay.

Genre naming are always a preference. And terms like Action RPG and Survival Horror have certainly been debated plenty here on GD.

To me it makes things more organised. If we called Final Fight and Street Fighter both 'Fighters' comes across as misleading; seeing as they're very different. And plenty of games having some form of fighting in it, so have to find a way of identifying.

That's why most just use Bem'U for games like Dragon's Crown, Castle Crashers, Double Dragon and Bare Knuckle. To me Beat em' Up is a term for a raw brawler about beating waves of enemies across an adventure. A Fighting game generally a structured fight in a locked zone.
