how to land in wing commander 3?

I can't do it for the life of me. I'm playing on 3do. I use auto pilot to get to all the spots, but when back near my base ship, I have no idea how to land or let the ai land

if I remember correctly you have to radio contact the command ship (can't remember the exact name , but you get the point) , and pretty much ask them to land

been a while since I played the game but I think thats how it was done

my manual says the same thing but I can't contact the ship somehow. I press R+B and it only lets me talk to my wingman, hobbes. I do get the option to highlight the mother ship but nothing happens.

Lol that's the only thing i can think of, you're doing something wrong, there has to be a legit reason, god forbid it's bugged.

ok I figured it out. believe it or not, this is what I had to do...

while having my mother ship in my vision, I had to hold L+B and then press and hold start+under (d-pad)

some serious hand gymnastics for me there
