How pissed are you that Parasite Eve 3 is a cell phone game?

it was pretty hyped when the first one came out on the ps1, sold pretty well too. then the series just died. kinda sad, she was  used as a example of a strong female character.  

People REALLY underestimate the power of the cell phones.

The phones in Japan lie in power somewhere in between a GBA and an DS.

Believe it or not their are many quality cell phone titles in Japan, the cell phone titles in the West are mostly used for shovel crap, but this is only due to the fact that the Japanese prefer portables over home versions.

^^^^Well cell phones are used for gaming alot more in Japan then the States and thus their are some designed more so for gaming while containg power a little more then a GBA.

The sad thing is that this game might not come to America since I don't think the average cell phone is up to the task.

I still plan to play the first Dino Crisis game. I remember seeing the commercials for it and it looking like Resident Evil with Dinosaurs on the loose rather than Zombies and that certainly sounds scarily fun!

But as for Parasite Eve, I enjoyed the original but I found the second one to very BOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRIIIIIIIINGGGGGGG. Seriously, the gameplay felt so bland, there was no music in the background, and the story and dialogue was uninteresting. Definitely inferior to the original.

BTW, I see Gamespot revises their reviews.  The PE2 review is different now than I when I read it years ago and had something like a 6.9 rating.

Parasite Eve was kind of Square's nod to Resident Evil. I liked the first one but it wasn't jaw-dropping or anything. The 2nd game, yeah that sucked bad. Did they have a different team do that one or what?

Reviving it as a cell phone game is just totally lame. Leave it in the coffin if that's the best you can do.

Having heard nothing about this game I checked out the review here on gamespot and looked at some screenshots. The game looks cool (PS1-era 3D-cool), i really want to play it now.

I don't understand the logic behind it. Sure, the cell phone market is pretty big in Japan but it still isn't anywhere near as large as the console gaming market. Parasite Eve is one of the many treasured series that Square has needed to bring back for years now and it would have a huge reception were it released on a next-gen system.

I am very displeased, angry, and frustrated with this decision. Had they decided to make some small off-shoot while making a larger standard game for the consoles I wouldn't have cared, but having it as a cell phone game only, most likely Japanese only, and definitely less playable than a standard game, makes me furious.
