Like many others, I broke down and bought several games during the Autumn sale. When I first enrolled in Steam a few years ago it was to register my new copy of Half Life 2. At first I was afraid I might lose downloaded games if my account got hacked or something. Today I realized I have 31 games in my library. I guess I'm not that afraid anymore. How many do you have?

1 and it was given to me by @S0lidSnake because Steam wouldn't let me add fiends and use the chat until I gave Gaben my credit card, my left kidney and half my bone marrow :P

Atleast your reasons are valid, I hate steam because I was blind sided by it back in 2008 when I purchased Saints Row 2, and I'm still Steam Free today ! :p

Although I'm pretty sure my steam account is floating around the net with my copy of Saints Row 2 in it. What a waste.

Just built my gaming PC this summer so I've only got 11. Of which I've pretty much only played Skyrim, with a couple hours on Shift 2: Unleashed.

212 Games

Steam says I've been a "Member since November 21, 2004." So I dont know how many sales I've seen but a good amount in order to have that many games on there and I remember getting 8-10 games at a time on the original Humble Bundle deals. I might add 4-5 more before the winter sale ends. Definitely getting Castlevanas LOS and Enslaved. I never got to beat LoS before I sold my xbox, so I think I'll get to that this week.

Pardon my simplemindedness, but what does it mean to be "blind sided" by Steam?

Did it flank you and roll a double crit on a d20 to hit roll?

LOL, something like that, it was the 1st time I encountered a DRM that works before the game is installed, not after.

Its pretty brilliant really, why don't all games do that ?

I used cracks (I had legit copies), as steam covered more ground I began to enter the grey area of Piracy. I felt guilty, sold my PC and got an Xbox, biggest mistake ever ! Still its no all bad, got to play some cool splitscreen games with my Boyfriend, it really takes me back to the good old days of Local co-op, with Contra, Mario and Sonic. Those were good times.

Right now you will have a hard time finding a clear "legit" way, even retail games can in some cases only come with a steam code , no dvd/blu-ray.

But there is always "cracks" and no one not even the law can say anything about you using that. As long as you bought the game legit.

way back when my brother used to mop the floor with me in Wrestlemania, Streetfighter and Mortal Kombat.

I was a shitty gamer back then, my brother would get mad everytime I stole one of his lives in Contra when mine ran out...... Half way through the 1st level, but I'm glad he needed me to be Two tails when we played some final boss fight in midair I think in Sonic.

@Lulu_Lulu: I recommend Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, great 4 player splitscreen for the PC and it's more fun that Mario Kart imho.

I'm into co-dependent co-op games. But sure If I find some cash under the couch cusions I'l consider it. Plus I only got three compadres, two of which are super busy. So I can't split it 4 ways as often as I'd like too.

I've been trying to get my sister to start gaming, lol, starting with gears of war, she got no satisfaction chainsawing people in half..... Hmmmm I wonder why ? :p

@Lulu_Lulu: I really liked Shank and The Guardian of Light. But they are not split screen. But are co-op games and you do depend on the other player. Supposedly L4D has split screen on the PC, never tried the splitscreen myself though.

Speaking of Tomb Raider, the entire Tomb Raider collections is 13.99 on steam right now. I consider Tomb Raider (2013) to be my game of the year. Terrible story, but the best game play (It looks like the collection does not include Guardian of Light?) However GoL is $1.99 right now, completely worth it.

Shank is 4.99

@Lulu_Lulu: Only the first, the second has hoard mode, boo! The co-op really comes in handy during the boss battles. Each boss must be defeated in a certain way, and teamwork is require to execute this. The co-op story is also a prequel to the main game, so it is completely different.

If I don't count the non-Steam games, 164. More than half of my library came from Humble Bundles, though, so I've got plenty of them available through DRM-free means.

Original poster here. Thanks for the responses. I guess compared to most people I'm a bit on the low side with only 31 games. I generally only buy during sales and since I don't play that many games I can wait until they get really cheap. (Far Cry for $7.49, Woohoo!)

But looking at my 31 games I counted only 8 that were 100% completed, 13 are unstarted, and 10 are "mostly" finished. A lot of the unstarted games are recently purchased but I've been sitting on Spore and L.A. Noire for over a year without starting them.

I'm curious. How many of the games in your library (rough %) are "likely" never going to get played?

All games will be played at least once in my library and if possible completed. not to 100% tho i am not an achievement whore. :)
