How accessible is Final fantasy 14 to a newb to mmos?

I have never played a mmo before. Would i enjoy ff14? Is it accessible to a newb like me?

The community is toxic like most MMOs.Nothing but a bunch of neckbeards with no life arguing about little things.

This sounds about right.

I found it a lot harder than it needed to be to use the map and find out where to go. Also there was ALOT of running back and forth. Fortunately you can teleport but it's still a pain.
