I'm trying to find some good horror-based video games, but beyond the big names like Resident Evil and Silent Hill, there doesn't seem to be much. Does anybody have any suggestions? I'm looking for scary, even freaky games, but not so much action-oriented, and I have all Nintendo systems, a PS2, and an X-Box 360.

Any suggestions?

You should try the Clock Tower series. It's a very underrated, but good, horror series(With the exception of Ghost Head). I recommend it.

Fatal Frame, Condemned 2: Bloodshot. I only say that instead of Criminal Origins because CO is harder to find.

I thought Clock Tower was Japanese only? Or at that just the first game?

That game is pretty freaky. I hadn't really thought of it as a horror game though. But the whole idea of it is pretty horrifying. And the fact that it's not zombies or ghouls or whatever... it's just people who've gone totally mad. They turned themselves that way... Anyway it's one of the best games I've ever played. Med lab - Dr. Steinmen - good stuff.

The first Clock Tower was released on three platforms: SNES, Wonderswan, and PS1, but all in Japan only. However, the other three games in the series saw a US release.

Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth, Fatal Frame, and Doom 3 come to mind.

Fatal Frame (Project Zero here in the UK) seems to fit your description perfectly.

Phantasmagoria - you'll have to search ebay for it but it's a true horror game.
