My friend is offering $40 for my:

Gamecube

1 Controller

2 memory cards(1 regular and a black one that holds like 500 kb)

Super smash bros. melee and some other mario games.

Am I getting ripped or is he offering well above what retail stores will offer me.

Lol No Deal! I wouldn't, the memory cards are worth definatly much more! And the "other" games could be worth more also.

That is a little low, $40 for the console is a fair price considering it comes with memory cards, the games bring up the value though. You should aim for a MIN of $50 if not $60

The console itself is worth 25 - 30 bucks,

Melee is worth 15-25, (assuming its complete)

Thats about the best you can hope for. The Gamecube is easy to find, and it's software is 100% BC with the Wii. So the actual GC hardware is, more or less, completely worthless.

If I'm not mistaken, a used GC goes for $30. So, the store would only give you $15-$20 for it. I don't think you're getting ripped off.

Don't do it. Are you even gonna remember what you did with that $40 a year from now? Someday you are gonna regret it if you sell it. After selling my N64, I totally regretted it. I don't even remember how much I sold it for.

personally I wouldn't sell it since growing up with consoles as a kid and then them being sold off as I grew up kind asucks. But at least I am getting those systems back after years of searching and collecting.

The only downside is if you keep it and your a collector like me. YOU NEED ALOT and I mean ALOT of shelf space xD I thought I had enough shelf space when I bought this one shelving unit 4 months ago and I alread out grew it by 1.5 times which kinda sucks and that is just for the machines forget about making room for games.

So unless you feel like you will never want to play on it ever again then by all means sell it. But if your a collector or have the slightest feeling you may play the game again. Then keep it.
