GD Lounge- The Next Generation Edition

Hello, Dracula. It is nice to see you again. I took about a half year break like I used to do every now and then, but I came back a couple months before the current site became the main one. Most of the normal posters in PGD are here in Games Discussion, but we might get some legacy discussions because that forum was merged with PGD and they transformed into Games Discussion. Activity in Off-Topic has decreased since the transition. System Wars has more activity than that forum now. I do not know very much about the other forums and the unions are yet to be turned into forums.

He made the announcement, disappeared for while, popped back in, saw his tags hadn't been removed, and decided to stick around for the time being. It was a strange turn of events.

Now that I think about it, Cyberendpunk has not been here since the major changes.

You are correct in that navigating is harder now. For example, the blogs of users I am following have to be searched for individually by clicking on their user information in forum (avatar or username link) like everyone else. The convenient profile page which listed tracked users and their blogs is gone and replaced by a feed which only a limited amount of current information about friends.

Quick reply and quick quoting has changed. Instead of a message box appearing under posts intended to be replied to or quoted, there is one message box at the bottom of the screen. Quoting is basically the same as before, though. Push the quote button for each post you would like.

HTML is no longer used in the WYSIWYG editor which means no [quote][/quote] or emoticons.

I think the religion bashing and political threads got redundant, but have not stopped.

That being said, I saw your thread on the South Park game being delayed. What a total bummer! I was REALLY excited for the game, especially after seeing the new trailer for it. I love turn-based RPGs (as long as they are done right) and this one seems to be doing justice to the license, so it sucked that it got delayed. Hell, I was happy that the game was going to be released on my birthday, no less, then it gets delayed to March. What a waste...

i wasn't really surprised to be honest. But they at least gave us a release date this time

Has anyone here tried Proteus?

I'm playing it right now for work, actually. It's cool. Very pretty. And unconventional. Not for anyone who despises games like Gone Home, Dear Esther, and the like, since it's very similar in that there's minimal gameplay.

Yep, flower type of game which is strange and seems to be for someone who is high.

But for what it is its pretty decent .

Hmm, not really in the same style as Dear Esther or Gone Home. It´s more a game like Flower and Journey. imo anyways.

That's what i got the feeling off aswell. Gone Home does seem to have some sort of narritive, while Proteus is just exploration and observation

I am beyond ready for these new consoles to be out. I am so sick of seeing every other thread turn into grown men who should damn well know better getting into circular internet slap fights of get the last word in while calling each other fanboys. Because hopefully, when they ARE out, people will get back to talking about games and stop turning this forum into System Wars with a monocle.

Seriously. It's taken everything in my power to stop myself from just suspending everyone until the damn machines are out so we can end these stupid arguments.

The most frustrating to see is the 720/1080p thing. It doesn't matter to me at all. Why people go apesh*** over this is beyond me. Just calm and wait for the consoles to be out for christ sake. People get angry or upset for the smallest things these days. There are other issues that actually matter in the world other than the resolution on your tv from your console. So i totally get why you are sick of it, so am I.

The "flag" button, just don't flag more than ten in a row, you and the person you flag both get "karma" with each use until a mod reviews it.

Dude, you still have "staff" tags, can't you just delete the spam yourself? :P

I flagged it then deleted it. Not gonna mess with anything else since so much has changed. Hell, I can't even find the mod queue!

Edit: I take it karma is bad here unlike GF?

The way it's supposed to work is that you get bad karma for flagging, and the flagged person does as well. When a mod reviews it in the queue they decide if it was flagged correctly or not, then if it was the flagged person keeps the bad karma point, and the flagger gets his or hers removed. When someone gets 10 bad karma, they lose the ability to post for a while, about 24 hours to shed a bad karma point.

The Assistant Manager job is opening back up yet again at the store. Their are no "free floating" Assistants, and no other qualified Grocery Managers. The DM asked the Store Manager about if I would apply for it specifically and already mentioned a promising potential new Grocery Manager in the same conversation. It effectively cancels my Thanksgiving plans with the family, sadly, but, it means more money and benefits. I'm still single and have no dependents, so this is a really big deal for me. The current Assistants last day is November 22nd though, so my day off to enjoy my brand new Xbone just got abandoned as well.

I'll have just enough time after the midnight launch to get it home, update it, and maybe play a few minutes of a game before needing to go to bed. Maybe be able to download Killer Instinct before work the next day. Ugh. Won't really have enough time to truly dig in until Thanksgiving evening, in all likelihood.

I might be getting a car sometime soon from a relative. It would be a great thing to have because I could use it to drive where I need to go such as work. I gave a different relative my high school graduation car because he needed it for work. This might be my turn to get some assistance and this time no one will be without a car. If I do get it, I will need to wait a while to get a new console.

The game does have its moments, but just some aspects of the game aggravate me about it, such as harder aggression coming from the enemies or that they can somehow punch or kick faster. The **** is that BS?

Hey Drac...so yeah i played a Kingdom for Keflings or whatever it's called. That is a very mindless game. I managed to finish it in about 3 days which seems kind of long in retrospect. Trying to play through Arkham City right now and it seems a lot more gritty than the original.

The faster than you punches aggravate me so much. They even punch faster when you're in focus mode! When was that a thing? Worse still is that fact that some snipers can see you through buildings and follow you around the map after seeing you just once.
