One game that hit me in the feels pretty good was MGS 4. It had a lot of fan service type moments, like:

  • Returning to Shadow Moses: wow, just replaying that level brought me back and certainly hit me in the feels
  • Controlling Metal Gear Rex: just when you thought Shadow Moses was enough, you get to take control of Metal Gear Rex. Absolutely nuts! Not many moments like that in a game.
  • The 1 on 1 fight with Liquid/Ocelot. Hearing the MGS music play and change each round was incredible.

How about you, GD? What games hit you in the feels?

@SolidGame_basic: Max payne 1 & 2. Great storyline based games that truly play upon emotions.

Resident Evil 1. Good plot line as well.

  1. Legend of Dragoon; good storyline and battle mechanics (classic rpg)
  2. Resident Evil Series; the well known game. :D
  3. Final Fantasy X; For me, this is the most splendid storyline. I really cant get over what happened to the MC (will not spoil this part) :D

Quantum Break

I can just keep replaying that game as I believe the story and characters are just so powerful.

When our main character Jack Joyce tells Beth Wilder he'll come back for her at the end I shed a tear every time.

Besides that I always pick Sean Durrie to accompany me as I genuinly feel bad for the guy for not being able to play Jack Joyce and being replaced with a TV actor instead. He was the one who played Jack Joyce in the original reveal.

I'm replaying this right now and just love how this game messes with me:

Should I treat the androids like robots, are they human? are they something in between, or are they something new?

Very powerful game.

@blackra1n:

I came here to say Legend of Dragoon as well. The translations were poor but you could still get the storyline, just came off a bit more cheezy than it probably should have.

  • Saying goodbye to the gang in Persona 4 Golden with the credits rolling and Never More playing.
  • The ending of SOMA. Can't say anything without spoiling it.
  • Alan Wake's story is one of the most immersive experiences I've had in a video game.
