I've gotten assurances that this thread will not be locked as long as it follows the terms of use and the board rules.

ABC attacks games and gamers.

Anita Sarkeesian had no threat before this event. She had no reason to be in a police escort. They never mentioned that GamerGate found the guy who harassed her. He was from Brazil. She had no reason for that show she did with the police. She also plays the damsel in distress card aswell.

Watch Dogs is completely misrepresented during this clip, just as GTA and other games have been before. So that's no real surprise.

Tim Schafer has no problem shilling his game, just because he backs her and the anti-GG crowd.

MakeLoveNotPorn has no relations with this either.

Brianna Wu also never left her home, which was debunked. Yet she's never questioned about this.

There is one guy sympathetic or neutral towards GamerGate and he has 20 seconds to talk. This is without a doubt a hit piece.

They did not talk about people who have been threatened, doxxed, harassed or even threatened on their life. I've been doxxed myself by someone who i won't mention where the information wasn't public.

Can't we just all agree that both Gamergate and SJWs are terrible and then move on from this pathetic ordeal?

Why are you so obsessed with Anita Sarkeesian? You're giving all gamers a bad name.

How many posts have you made about her? It seems that more of your posts are about her than anything else in the world combined. It's pathetic because you're making a big deal out of nothing "she doesn't like the things I like oh boo hoo" get over yourself she is entitled to share her opinion and since this is a free market she is also free to profit from sharing her opinion.

So what if she thinks games are sexist? Does that somehow effect your ability to not think that games are sexist?All obsessively posting about her does is re-enforces her point. Well, she is right in the fact there are definitely sexism issues in the industry, which should be a concern for anyone interested in the industry.

It's just she's going about it in the wrong way.

That's one the main problems with the masses, they always want to blame a group(race, religion,country)of people with what's wrong in our society.

You know I totally see where these women are coming and there is no harm in saying what they say, but do they miss out all the bits in the game where i'm going around killing loads of men, picking up a hooker and then killing her, is nothing, esp when you can work down the street and kill 10 men and rob them :S it's all the same, end of the day the female species is a lovely sight, and men are attracted to them for there physical attraction, so no wonder there is a lot of this in gaming as it's a very male dominated industry for right now, but they completely miss all the games which women are more than just objects and in some are the main characters, picking out a couple is useless when there are 1000s of games.

....but I totally agree that people shouldn't be threaten for speaking out.....even if against something I like.

I've done threads about GamerGate, she's accusing GG of threats. I have never condoned any threats anyone has gotten. She however accuses people in the consumer revolt without any proof. I never said she could not share her opinion... You are making it to be that i want to silence her, that is false. I am criticizing her because she's stupid. She's a liar, a fraud and is factually wrong. Just look at her Watch Dogs example.

which is my point, they barely have someone who has a neutral view on it speak. They have no one from GG speaking. It's a one sided hit piece where nothing i mentioned is even talked about

It's ironic that you accuse her of lying when you constantly lie. For example where did ABC attack gamers? You made that claim yet didn't provide any evidence about it. Even Anita Sarkeesian provides more evidence in her arguments.

There is not much sexism in gaming when you look at it with a reasonable mindset. Sexism like calling a female an object if she not physical strong.

Like I said on System Wars when this thread showed up there, I don't agree with Anita and widely disagree with her, but at the same time, I think gamers upright deserved that.

i've said that she has not met her Kickstarter, she's going to get in trouble for things she has done with that money. She has constantly lied in her videos. She has used other people's video. She lied about being a gamer. She has used 0 valid research in her videos that she needed money for. I can go on. You get the point.

It attacks gamers by re-enforcing that it's basement dwelling dudes several times in the video. Even though they say women play it, they say it's only for men? They're attacking gamers without fact checking. They're claiming only women get attacked in videogames, that's not true. That's a blatant lie. It seems that gamers just hate women even if women are playing games. How about the harassment & death threats that gamers have gotten from people who hate games? That wasn't mentioned. She also has no proof it's gamergate. Every gamer gets trash talked, hell even women trash talk or even harass. To claim it's only men harassing is a blatant lie. Everyone here i bet has been some sort of harassed online when playing games. She is only getting attention because she's a female. Brianna Wu even claims that ALL females in the industry get threats and are not welcome in the industry. Females get threats, that's true. But they are more than welcome in the industry. They're painting some few individuals even though many are regular people. Just take a look at the video of the female getting harassed. I bet you've been called worse, and it was only one guy during that video

She did exactly what she said she would do in her kickstarter. I would argue that she never should have been funded in the first place as she claimed she needed to do research yet had already came to a conclusion.

It isn't attacking gamers, it's attacking people like you, there's a huge difference. They didn't say gaming is only for men they said there is a group of gamers who act like it's only for men and attack anyone who goes against that view. You'd have to be blind to think that all people are accepted in to the industry with open arms. Look how much hate the Gone Home got simply because it was about a lesbian rather than a guy in the military killing terrorists, or Bioware for having gay and bisexual characters in their games. Sure most people don't get angry when people make games catered to different groups of people, but some do and they were clearly talking about those people, not gamers as a whole.

So are you saying that the only way gamers can relate to a character is if they are like them? Then I have a serious problem, I am an Italian American male and I am being severely discriminated against by developers. All of my people are constantly portrayed as gangsters in video games and it gives all Italians a bad name, the only 2 non gangster Italian Americans I can think of are Mario and Luigi, one who is a coward, and the other, while being brave and heroic, also portrays the negative stereotype that Italians are fat babbling imbeciles.

Bottom line is I am so fucking tired of people claiming that the only way a character is relatable is if the character is a mirror image of them. I am also tired of the false assertion that all white men relate to all white male characters. If a character clicks with you than they should do so because of their personality traits, and all of those who are constantly obsessing over the race/gender of a character are the real bigots here who cannot relate to a character because of their gender/skin color.

Also Sexism works both ways. I know the SJW love to talk about the sexy women all over games but what about the men? Am I really to believe that all men have perfect bodies and well defined muscles. I can personally benchpress 375 pounds, so how is it that my arms are not as big as a wandering martial artist who probably has never picked up a weight a day in his life(Ryu from Street fighter). And have you seen the history channel? Go look at real archaeologists and then find one half as handsome as Nathan Drake. Admist the constant crying over sexy video game women the average idiot forgets how attractive the average male video game character is.

EA even pulled their game from India, you bet you didn't know that. I did not see any flack Gone Home did, all the media did was talk good things about it. If certain individuals feel that it's crap, then fine. It also got hate because of its gameplay, not only its story. I can list you a lot of videos where this video is heavily debunked. If this is not an attack on gamers, why are 20 000 people downvoting it?

Nothing is going to change though. Any industry that finds its roots (culturally speaking and hobby-wise) in stuff like old D&D gatherings is always going to be a rather male-dominated thing (which again adds reinforcement to the stereotypical male basement gamer). So yes, of course there's going to be the odd bit of sexism, but video games are absolutely not misogynistic.

Clueless idiots just like to throw that word around because they only wish to see the parts they don't like or agree with. It's the same social justice nonsense we've all seen time and again.

I understand wanting to tackle the issue of sexism. But it always seems more and more like the goal is becoming one of not just changing the industry, but male gamers themselves (lol)... and that just simply isn't going to happen. What really needs to change is their approach to addressing such concerns.

Organized campaigns to downvote the video plus creating sockpuppet accounts to downvote the video(to an extent) is mostly the reason why the video has the high amount of dislikes.There may be people that just don't like the point of the video that are not involved in gamergate downvoting the video also.

To address your claim about GG supporters being over 150k it's actually about 2%-4% of that number on twitter. The actual number of people using the tag on twitter is about 4300-6000 on twitter according to randi harper(I need to find the tweet). The actual number of supporters is probably 1/5 of 150K now. And please stay on topic to everyone in this thread.

Members of a certain brand of sites like using sockpuppet accounts and etc to make something more slanted to their opinions sometimes. They have done this in the past with stuff like Not Your shield and online voting on competitions that occur on certain gaming and non-gaming sites.It's possible they are doing this to make the amount of dislikes really high for that video. Organized campaigns by gamergaters sharing the video on twitter and other people responding to the twitter posts related to the video and downvoting the video most likely resulted in the high amount of dislikes.

i have to correct you there, not everyone is on twitter. People are on GamerGate.me, IRC, 8Chan, 4Chan, Reddit, forums, etc. Reddit alone also disproves this by having 25k people subscribed. That doesn't take into account anyone else checking it out
