I've had a used Gamecube from Gamestop for about 8 months now, and it's worked fine for the most part. I've had Rogue Squadron give me a DRE once; I cleaned the disc and moved some stuff away from the air vents on the side since it seemed to be a little warm and it worked fine.
I just got Metroid Prime from GS today, and after a few minutes it DRE'd. I noticed that once it spun up, the disc made a different sound than usual. I looked at the disc, and there are some weird white marks on the clear plastic next to the hole that where the spindle goes. I can't feel them on any of the surfaces, but they look sort of like heat damage. Any suggestions? This was the version of MP that has the second disc with a MP2 demo on it, so would they just trade the one disc and let me keep the special disc/case?
