i don't if you could do this with any other game, but I remeber playing pokemon yellow on the tv with that thing you attached to the controller, that was the bomb. Anyone else rember, I was literally hit with a wave of nostalgia.

You talking about Pokemon Stadium with the transfer pak? If you finished the prime cup you could set the speed to 300%. Good times!

there was some sort of adapter made which could play GB/GBC games on the N64, but its very rare, as far as I know it might not have even been officially licensed

The transfer pack is what you're talking about but there was this thing :

It was the GB Hunter that allowed you to play GB/GBC games on a N64. Of course, it was rare and it was probably illegal. It was made in China.

It was used for more than just Pokemon, but you could only play a few games through it, and that was only if you had a corresponding N64 game that had the capability. Mostly it was for data transfer.

depends where he got it, its not hard to find stuff like this in car boot sales , flea markets , or even plain old 2nd hand goods shops obviously if he bought it in somewhere like GAME or gamestop then obviously it would be legal, as I doubt a major shop would get involved with something illigal

The transfer pak is legal but it only works with some pokemon and mario games, other devices worked with all the Gameboy library, those are unofficial

I'm 100% sure than you can play Poke blue, red, yellow on Pokemon Stadium, and silver, gold, crystal on pokemon stadium 2.
All thanks to the transfer pack, which is official and made by the Big N:
