I think I am the only one who even remembers this game but I still love it as much today as I did when I first discovered it. The game is called Burning Force and it appeared on the Sega Genesis and in the arcade (arcade version only in Japan). It was a shooter that was quite similar to Space Harrier (another good one) in that it had a unique perspective that was pseudo-3D in the way the main character traveled forward into the oncoming horizon and enemies came at you head on. It may look archaic by today's standards but it was incredible to see when comparing it to the NES. The SNES had not come out yet and it truly looked next gen for its time. The music was also very good (again, for the time). It was very systhesiszer heavy with a great sci-fi sound that fit the game perfectly. While I'm sure no one even knows this game, it's one worth checking out if you're a shooter fan and if you're into classic gaming.
