Game you just had to play after seeing the Movie.

There were so many horrible games that were made based off of popular movies. The marketing people knew that we wanted to experience the movie for ourselves, so we were thrown to the wolves in a sense. We had a hunch that the game most likely sucked, but for those of us old enough to remember the days when we had no Internet, gaming magazines, and G4 to break it down for us on what stunk and what was actually great, we were left with skillfully cut commercials that showed barely anything. I remember even constantly flipping through the Sears Catalog, which showed one screen shot of each game, to try and get a better grasp of what each game was actually like.

So I guess my question to you is what game did you go out and buy/rent because you really enjoyed the movie enough to want more? I fell for Friday the 13th (NES), cause I was really into horror movies when I was a kid. It wasn't the worst game I ever played but it was big let down. The only other game that let me down worse then FT13th was Back to the Future (NES). That game still will be forever carved into my mind as one of the worst adaptions ever in gaming.

I strongly agree, I loved this game.

I also had to play a couple of the Lord of the Rings games. They actually were pretty fun.

Spiderman 1,2,3 and Transformers.

I have to go with Return of the King for PS2 which I really liked. Revenge of the Sith which upset me greatly. And Batman Begins which was simple but still fun.

To me all a movie game should do is extend the enjoyment you had watching the movie. It should work and follow the plot. It shouldn't do anything less than that. If it turns out to be a good game that could stand on it's own then great.

None. Not one. Ever. No video game movie ever convinced me to play a game I hand't already.

One came close and that was Riddick Escape from Butcher Bay. I didn't see the Riddick movie until after I played that. Great game no doubt but I only waited on the movie because I wasn't going to pay to see it in theatres.

I couldn't wait to play the warriors when i heard about it because i had the movie years before the game came out.bigd575

haha, you had that kinda backwards. I have only played the game on my Xbox, but have still not seen the movie. Maybe I will rent it or something.

in fact, back in the day of the nes/snes more often than not movie to game adaptations were pretty good. a few exceptions were back to the future, predator, jaws and friday the 13th. these were pretty rotten games unfortunately.

It's usually been the other way round, but some movie games i played were -

Star Wars Episode 3 - Amazing. THE BEST STAR WARS GAME EVER. AND IV'E PLAYED KOTOR.

Pirates of the carribean - i hate this.

Jurassic park - 3DO

oh so your saying that horrible excuse for entertainment made you wnat to play the newest game from the classic franchise. thats like saying after watching some s*** spin around in the microwave i had to go play MGS4. lol /rant

i cant believe no one said this one, goldeneye and 007 as a whole is the only highly succesful movie to game translation ,,

since they follow the story just as good, and the ones not based off movies do a good job in its own way to create the bond universe,

and quatum of solace looks to continue this tradition
