Favorite games of 2011

There were a lot of games released in 2011, some of them even broke sales records. But, some did not fulfill our expectations. Two great examples are: Assassins Creed: Revelations, and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. So, which games were your favorites, and which ones did not fulfill your expectations? Also, of the games that have been announced, which games of 2012 are you most excited for?

Favorites: Portal 2, Bastion, Skyward Sword

Didn't fulfill expectations: Skyrim, Battlefield 3, Arkham City

Most excited for: Tales of Graces f, Xenoblade, Bioshock Infinite

Favorite game: Stronghold 3.

Lookign forward to: Paper Mario (for right now; we'll see what else crops up this year)

Favorites: Dead Space 2, Batman: Arkham City, Infamous 2, Dark Souls, Deus Ex: Human Revolution

Didn't meet expectations: Rage, Dragon Age II, Dead Island, Bulletstorm, Skyrim

Anticipated: Resident Evil 6, Darksiders 2, Bioshock Infinite, Mass Effect 3, Twisted Metal

Most excited for 2012: Silent Hill Downpour, Silent Hill HD Collection, Borderlands 2, Metal Gear Rising, Armoured Core V, Prey 2, Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode II, Far Cry 3, Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2.

Fav: Crysis 1, Rage, Saints Row 3

Looking forward to Max Payne 3, Far Cry 3, Tomb Raider

Favs? Assassin's Creed Revelations, Saints Row: The Third, Batman: Arkham City

What I'm most looking forward to in 2012? Borderlands 2.

Rayman Origins was the best game of 2011 that I played.

I'm most looking forward to Aliens: Colonial Marine this year.

Most excited for: Hitman Absolution, Tomb Raider, FarCry 3, Bioshock Infinite, Mass Effect 3, Prey 2, Twisted Metal, GTA 5, Sleeping Dogs

All on PS3. Yes, even Skyrim.
Everything else I played in 2011 was old like Wild Arms, Dragon Quest VI, and Final Fantasy V.

Favorite Games: If I had to choose only 3 or so, I'd choose Skyrim, Infamous 2, and Arkham City.

Disappointing Games: Battlefield 3.

Excited for: Whatever gameplay catches my eye during E3.

didn't meat expectations: Socom 4

Most anticipated: Prototype 2, The Last of us, Tekken tag 2, Diablo III (Already have the licence actually) and Twisted Metal.

my three favs of 2011 were:

deus ex human revolution - flat out awesome!

gears of war 3 - waaaay better than gears 2 (hated gears 2, loved gears 1)

crysis 2 - loved it!

dissappointment:

batmman arkham city was overrated but was better than "good" like asylum was. it was overhyped by comic book fanatics, IMO.

skyrim is too much like oblivion in its core gameplay and i didn't like oblivion so i'll just politely pass on that one.
