Favorite Game Soundtrack?

I like downloading good game soundtrack, so im trying to look around and see what other people like. id go with Banjo series and Mega Man X.

How about FF6? It's one of those rare games where NONE of the songs are even the least bit MEDIOCRE.

Well, I liked Final Fantasy 7's soundtrack a lot(and FF7:Crisis Core, they both have deadly music), and F-Zero X on the N64 had some nice, albeit sorta corny, music on it. =D But thank god you can use custom music on the 360, Forza 2 doesn't have anything I'd call music on it...

I'll give you good ones from the old days: Castlevania 1-4, Donkey Kong Country series, Mega Man 2, Ghost and Goblins, Street Fighter 2 series, kind of obvious but many Mario games had excellent soundtracks in the 2D days.

Mario, Zelda, Final Fantasy, the Chrono series, Mega Man, old school Sonic and Metroid all have great soundtracks. In honorable mention would be Halo.

In terms of best soundtrack of any game I'd say Super Smash Bros Brawl/Melee, and Halo, but since this is the Legacy board I'd have to say Donkey Kong Country 2.

God of War 1 & 2. Epic does not even begin to describe the soundtracks!

Its hard to narrow it down to just one but i would say it would be the Legend of Zelda Ocarina Of Time, and these games would come after it:Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon,Shadow Of The Colossus,Super Mario Galaxy,Super Castlevania 4, Final Fantasy 7, mario 64, and MGS3.

My favorite game soundtracks are Chrono Trigger, Parasite Eve, and Metal Gear Solid 3. Also, the old Mario games had classic, memorable soundtracks

I think overall, my favourite sound track was the one from Twisted Metal 2. The music fit the levels so perfecctly.

Freedom Fighters - Awesome Choirs. Great music from intro.

Ace Combat 5&Zero - 2 Masterpices. No wonder the soundtracks where sold separetly.

Republic Commando - Has some great choir pices. I have used the menu sound background as my ring in the telephone.

Most definately Final Fantasy 7, without a doubt. In my opinion there is no other soundtrack better than this.

Two others that I like are Devil May Cry 3 and Madworld. Those 3 are my favourites.

Also Yasunori Mitsuda's album called Kirite. It was supposed to be a game, but sadly the OST was the only thing that made it. Yasunori Mitsuda is a genius.

My favortive game sound tracks are Donkey Kong Country 2.

Other games with good sound tracks are Sonic 1,2,3, Chrono Trigger, Silent Hill 2, FF 7, Zelda games, and anything by Yuzo Koshiro.

Chrono Cross. Definately. Many times I found myself setting down the controller just to savor the amazing music. What makes this soundtrack so great is that the pieces are done by an ensemble, not an orchestra. So instead of having this huge symphony playing the songs, it's just a handfull of instruments. And boy is it done right.

And then Final Fantasy VIII, I'm having the re-orchestrated versions in mind (Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec, something like that).

My favorite pieces would have to be:
Another World Theme- Chrono Cross
Liberi Fatali- FFVIII
Final Fantasy VII Main Theme/Cloud's Theme (re-orchestrated)
Aeris Theme (re orchestrated)

I might add that Odin Sphere has one heck of an opening/main theme.

Radical Dreamers, Scars of Time, Another Guldove and Another World are all freaking amazing songs.

I have alot of game songs that I love, is you couldn't tell already. :P

Megaman X1 probably has the best overall music ever. It's a shame Megaman X2-6 couldn't follow X1 with it's kick-ass rock tunes :(! Though those games also had some nice tunes, along with the original Megaman series.

The Golden Sun series also has some great music! :)

Final Fantasy 5-10 also have superb soundtracks. ;)

I never really played the game, but I REALLY REALLY like the fable soundtracks.
