Any thoughts in regards to whether or not the Fallout 4 recommended specs are bloated? I'm thinking I'm good to go come release next month but who knows?

The minimum requirements are absurdly bloated. But the recommended requirements are likely for playing at very high-resolution and frame-rate.

Why care?

Fallout 4 is Fallout 4 and Witcher 3 is Witcher 3 and even tho i know some kids and idiots will do nothing but compare the 2, it is 2 different games made with 2 different budgets and studio sizes.

The requirements are higher than for Witcher 3? Uhh. That doesn't really seem right based on how people generally say F4 is going to be relatively undemanding and Witcher 3 seems like one of the most taxing ones around.

I presume this maybe taken into a mountain of salt.

Edit: All system requirements are inflated and have been for many years now.

@Jacanuk: Did you even read my post? We're not talking about merits of one over another here, we're talking about how taxing one game will be in comparison to another, Witcher 3 being a benchmark not for gameplay replayability and over all value, but rather in terms of pc specs and how much of a burden it is on a gaming pc rig.

The are probably bloated if you look at the fact that it will work for Xbox and PS4. BUT!!! Mods on the PC will use it all up and ask for more. I can already see 4k graphics mods that will change every single texture in the game to 4096x4096. It will be glorious and also expensive. Like, kidney -1 expensive.

Yes, mods will bump the requirements up and my computer will probably be struggling just with the vanilla version so I probably won't bother with those kind of mods any time soon.

That said, I look forward to the day that games are released with 4k textures right from the start.
