There's no reason for a game to not feature both or to be the exact opposite, but I usually find these two to describe games better, and to make them interesting all the same. I've gotten used to games with a steep learning curve, because it plays down the rest of the challenge, the latter being the need to keep yourself in touch with the game, as opposed to picking up an easy one at any given time, but not completing it due to it getting harder.
Examples:
- Gunvalkyrie
- Street Fighter III
- EVE Online
These are some of those which I consider to have steep learning curves for the best.
