Hey Everyone me and my bro bought a dreamcast on thursday and I"m looking for suggestions for game... we have sonic adventure and a fighting cop game, anyone have any suggestions?

Sure thing

Soul Calibur - this one needs little explaining... the original and best of the Soul Calibur series, it finds just the right balance of accessibility and challenge

Power Stone series - two little known gems from Capcom, think of it as an isometric version of Smash Bros... fantastic party game

Shenmue series - Two instalments, seven discs altogether (if you discount the extras disc from the first game). An immersive adventure game and the sheer attention to detail is still impressive today. You will have to mod your Dreamcast or get an Xbox to play Shenmue II if you don't live in Europe though.

Space Channel 5 - Excellent rhythm game from Sega, but don't let that put you off. It has enough style to set it apart from other rhythm games. It was given a lacklustre sequal on the PS2.

Chu Chu Rocket - An ingenious puzzle game in which you navigate mice through a grid and into your rocket without letting the cat eat them.

Crazy Taxi series - The original is avalable on other platforms (as an inferior port), but the second game is exclusive to the Dreamcast. Both are wonderful arcade driving games.

Resident Evil 2 + 3 - I know this one seems silly as they are only ports of PlayStation games, but the graphical improvements and extras make them the best available versions.

Sonic Adventure 2 - A more than worthwhile sequal. The outstanding multiplayer mode is worth the purchase alone.

Marvel vs. Capcom series - an awesome 2D fighting spectacle and the Dreamcast version is superior to the PS2 and Xbox versions.

Some other games that I haven't played , but I hear nothing but good things about.

Test Drive Le Mans

Eternal Arcadia/Skies of Arcadia

Rez (rare and expensive though)

Garou: Mark of the Wolves

Jet Set Radio

Guilty Gear X

Tony Hawk's 2

Blue Stinger

Ikaruga

Legacy of Kain: The Soul Reaver

Bangai-O

You must get Power Stone 2. Also Project Justice is awesome as it is basically Rival Schools in 3D.

If you're into side-scrolling shoot-em-ups, you've picked the right console:

Bangai-O

Border Down

Giga Wing

Giga Wing 2

Ikaruga

Mars Matrix

Psyvariar 2

Triggerheart Exelica

Twinkle Star Sprites

Under Defeat

Zero Gunner 2

Don't forget one of the coolest the system offered, "Maken X" a first-person martial arts game with great feeling combat, also "Iron Aces" for great WWII air combat (with two-player!), "AeroWings" is a great technical flyer with little to no combat just flying skill, "Slave Zero" for odd giant robot corridor shooting, "Ecco The Dolphin" for tripping out, and of course "Unreal Tournament" because sometimes, you just gotta shoot someone in the mellon with a sniper rifle.

Get Skies of Arcadia, Shenmue 1 and 2, and Resident Evil Code Veronica X. The best on the system.

This thread makes me want to buy a used Dreamcast. Never owned a dreamcast before (was waiting for the PS2 to come out at the time), but it seems like a really great console. So many titles I missed out on.

Skies of Arcadia.

What a classic RPG I'd buy a DC again just for that one game.

Hmm lets see:

Not so expensive titles:

Resident evil 2,3, Code Veronica- 2 and 3 do look better on the DC as well as havinga few more features, and Code veronica is great unless you own/played it on the PS2/GC.

Soul Calibur- One of the better fighting games of that generation

Crazy Taxi series- just flat out fun

Skies of Arcadia-great turn-based RPG, not to rare

Grandia 2

Jet Grind Radio

Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver

Ecco the Dolphin

More expensive Titles:

Marvel vs Capcom 2

Power Stone 2

Mark of the Wolves

Ikaruga-will most likely need to mod your DC to play import titles or the boot disc which is much easier :)

Project Justice

Street Fighter Third Strike

Shenmue 2

Bangai-o

Outtrigger

REZ

Half-Life

Vampire Chronicles

Capcom vs SNK 2
