All the GameStop/EB around here ask for ID's all the time. It get pretty annoying but they have to do their jobs.

They should as GameStop/EBgames seems to be pushing to get people do actually do that now. Last I heard (I work at a GameStop, but I'm not informed well by my managers) the consequence is pretty big if you're caught selling M rated games to underage people.

it seems if someone makes a big deal about games in the news and points out the rating system... they step up their ID checks. but most of the time they are lax about it

it matter what kind of people are at the register, middle aged caucasian females get pissy about it and ask for id,but other than that if the person talks to you, theyre friendly and theyll let you.like the other day i was at gamestop and theyre wasc this middle aged guy and he was cool talking to me about games and stuff and he had no problem, but insometimes theres some miserable old lady who thinksyour 10 instead of 16 and decides a game isto violent for you

Most of the time if the age is in reasonable question. If the game happens to get an AO rating as did San Andreas after the whole Hot Coffee incident, then the companies become complete sticklers about it. If an employee failed to check ID for that particular incident and a complaint was made about a minor getting a hand on the game....that salesperson would have nearly certainly been fired.

I've never been asked for an ID from EB/Gamestop, even when I was a kid....at that time it was called "Funcoland". I'm getting old.
