Reason I ask this is because I used to try and finish a game ASAP, just to say look game done, now sell it, and I find it hard ( boring ) to re-do levels if I've missed anything . So which category do you fall in ?

1. A quick finisher

2. A quick finisher and re do parts

3. Take your time and do as much as you can while playing

4. Take your time , then re do parts..

I like to finish a game's campaign first to get a feel for the story. Then I replay for everything else the game has to offer.

I guess I fall in the third category; I try to finish as much as possible on my first playthrough, with the exception of truly exceptional games which I replay a few or many times

It depends. Sometimes when I am nearing towards the end, I would sometimes feel obligated to finish the game faster.

@kerganisus: I do the same thing as well. Especially if I'm already invested in what's happening.

I used to get really invested and finish a game into completion and replay it over and over just to get most out of what I paid for. And the fact that I used to not buy games as often made sure I didn't get a new game until I was finished with the last one I bought. Recently, it's been pretty difficult and my backlog has been steadily growing. Games with Gold isn't doing anything to help either. Having a ton of games is by no means a problem, but finding the time is.

I usually take my time and do as much as I can on my first play through. I like to get my moneys worth.

3. Sometimes overlaps with 4.

I rarely buy a new game when I haven't finished the last one.

If I really love the game, regardless of its length and amount of content, I'll play it again. The first playthrough, though, is for the story and a few side objectives if the game has any. After that, I'll replay for the content, and then...well it depends on how much I enjoyed everything if I replay it or not.

Depends on the game... I generally take my time. But if it's a linear game with not much else to do, I'll spend less time on getting through it. But with open world games, I try to savor it as much as I can. I won't just run through the story. Instead, I'll do some side missions or explore inbetween.

I try to finish them as fast as I can, because I usually don't have much time to play games.

I only have interest in video games I plan to keep and replay from time to time. So I feel it does not matter if I try to hurry up and finish it or not.

I definitely take my time and do as much as I can. For example, I'm now playing Dishonored GOTY and I'm having a blast trying to find all runes and bone charms before proceeding to the main objective.

Sometimes I'll redo parts of choice driven games if I see the consequences are dumb. I like to get my moneys worth so I generally avoid linear driven games with no room for exploration.

Yeah same. Especially if there's another game I want to play after.

However, if nothing else is out, I try to take my time with a campaign, but sometimes it's too hard if the game is really good.

I do all I want in the first playthrough because, mostly, I'll never play the game again. I can't stand going through a game more than once.

3 I take my time and try to find the most on the first play through then I replay the game and try to find what I've missed ... So I play a lot of single player games. Like right now I try to plat Lightning Returns and I also play many game on my 3DS like Bravely Default, Pokémon and Super Mario Land 3d and in all of them I try to find everything especially in Mario and Bravely Default. In Pokémon my goal is only to saw all the pokémon.

Whatever feels the most natural for a particular game, it varies widely usually. Open world games usually take me a lot longer to finish than other games though because I tend to do a lot of side-quests and exploring of the game world.

I tend to take my time and do as much as I can, so third category. Like for example when I played destiny alpha, there was the simple mission to do, I took as long as possible to kill as many fallen as I can and learn about all the features and mechanics in the game. If it comes to a games that aren't open world tho, and only have a straight story, i tend to just get right in there and finish it up quick.

Depends, some games its easy to just go through it without any effort. Some require your attention and patience a lot more so they get finished much later.

More of a quick finisher for the most part. If like a game I'll finish. If love a game I would bum rush it and then milk the crap out of the remaining bits maybe even replaying it. Though I haven't replay a game in a long time. My passion for love and passion for newer games just aren't the same.
