I was just wondering if anyone else gets this. Say you've just finished an absolutely amazing game, and it has left such an impression on you that you feel the need to avoid playing the consolefor a few days, you feel "unready" to start another game within the next few days. It's sort of like an overwhelmed feeling, like you're taking the time to soak in the amazingness of the game so you don't want anything to disrupt what you feel from/about the game.. anyone else get this? It also happened to me again when I finished MGS4, I completely avoided the PS3 for like, just under a week, before starting a different game. I'm not mad or anything lol, I just get really sucked into some games sometimes haha.

i wouldnt say i avoided it. after the credits/ending of a great i turn my console off to give me some closure on that game. then maybe ill go focus my attention on some other stuff. cause that feeling of accomplishment only lasts until you start the next game. so i soak it in for a few hour, or a day depending on how packed my gaming schedule is. then its back to cramming my perceptions with new stories and visuals again.

I usually hop from game to game before finishing games but if a really good game that draws me in comes up...i tend to play that game only until it's done. that's about as sentimental i get with games.

I usually turn it off after I'm done but I'll keep playing it later if it's got replay value. If it's something like Beyond Good & Evil, then I'll just wait to start a new game till the next day. In the meantime, I'll play something I've played countless hours over.

I've been left teary eyed after a select few games - the same feeling that a good book leaves you with.

Not really for me, I usally play around say...3 games at a time old a new (though I'm going to Uni soon, nay affect game time :P ). Though I will admit the MGS4 ending was pretty awesome and probably the closest I've been to doing that :)

I've had that feeling, but only when trying to finish a game for some odd reason, not after finishing a game.

I've never had that happen to me before.

When I finished MGS4 (which I loved), I started a new file on FFVII the next day.

No but sometimes when i find a good game i dont play it much because i dont wanna complete it, since after that am gonna have to stick to the rest crap :) those awesome games work like morphine to cover the pain from the crappy games i play at the same time.
