I used to play C&C but I've lost interest mainly because I'm rubbish at 'em. My favourites are Red Alert and Tiberium Wars, man I used to spend hours on Tiberium Wars. Shame I lost it now though. :(
i have played the red alert series. red alert: retaliation was fun, even if if was on PS1 i loved the tesla and all the other units. the controls weren't that bad so i don't know why people bash console RTS's generals was good i didnt own it but played it at a friends. i even played C&C renegade. the single player was decent for that.
C&C3 is fun, but i traded it in. to heavily oriented on rushing, and it just doesn't feel like C&C to me. i had squad units also. they need to start making it to where you train single units, but you can form them into squads, I'd like that better.
Played some but I don't like RTS so did not really enjoy any of the C&C series (though war2/3 & starcraft are my favorite pc games). I find it odd that C&C3 runs far better on my comp on maximium settings compared to C&C generals on medium setting. Generals must be terribly optimized.
The original Red Alert by far is my favourite C&C title. I just didn't experience the same amount of enjoyment as I did with any of the other C&C games, although Red Alert 2 did come close.

I know how you feel. Back in the day I loved the original C&C (if only for the Commando) and everything about Red Alert (the game which made me a real RTS fan), but watching people play the series these days I feel rubbish by comparison. The gameplay style has definitely changed since then. I do still enjoy the prettier, newer titles though.
