The Jaguar is a system worth getting for one reason:
Tempest 2000

What he said^
A few other good games for Jag/3do
The Horde, Aliens vs predator, Raiden (the jaguar vesion of this is second best to only the TG-16 version) but yah mostly just tempest 2000
once upon a time i had a jaguar, a friend of mine stole it and pawned it... i have not yet fully recovered. i miss my avp and kasumi ninja.
no 3do though, i'd like to have one. i'd like to get my hands on way of the warrior, rayman, and a few others.
Nope never had a Jag or a 3D0. I was too busy playing my Playstation at the time.Kage1
Because obviously you were playing on a Playstation in 1993...
I remember it was actually kind of hard to come by at my local Electronics Boutique. It took me a little while to get my hands on one.
Lol I remember way back in the mid 90s when those systems came out, seeing ad's for them on TV etc, but I never actually saw any of those systems in stores. Let alone anyone who actually owned one....0.0;Simulator_Shock
What games were on those systems? Were there any exclusive gems that the world missed out on? Simulator_ShockThe Jaguar had Alien vs. Predator (which is NOT the same game as the arcade brawler or Monolith's classic PC FPSs) and Tempest 2000. I can't think of much else notable about it. The 3DO had a very nice port of Super Street Fighter II Turbo (with even better music than the arcade version!), Return Fire (which was ported to many other platforms, but the original was the 3DO version), a bunch of EA titles (which was fitting since Trip Hawkins founded EA and later left to found 3DO), and most notably, an official port of Star Control II with remixed music and added voiceovers, among other things. (It's the only official port along with the IBM PC DOS original, and the 3DO release is actually the basis for the UQM source port/remake.) What killed the Jaguar was most likely the lacking library in comparison to its competitors. In the 3DO's case, the initial 699.99 US$ price tag certainly didn't help things (and people said that 599 US DOLLARS for a PS3 was too much!), though there were some great games to be had on it-just not enough great games to justify the price of the hardware itself, especially when most of the games were available on more affordable hardware.

I agree whole-heartedly. Awesome game. Doom also kicked some good butt.
As far as the 3DO...a friend of mine had it and the load times were horrendous. We literally would lose interest in playing as we waited for a game to load up. A real crappy system in my mind.

Damn that really sucks. It's not like the Jaguar was better than the Playstation tho....I hope you got back at him for that.
Used to have one when it came out, but I was never allowed playing it (my dad played it non stop). He always played this boxing game that was set in medieval times. Does anyone have any idea what this game is called?
Anyways, sold the 3DO not long after getting it
