There's plenty for me but...admittedly, I still haven't played Chrono Trigger. P.S. What's the best platform to play it on? I've heard the PC port isn't great.
I think for Chrono Trigger SNES originally is probably the preferred way to go.
My answer depends on what you consider classic I guess. I havent played the original Earthworm Jim but I played the second one. I havent played Toejam and Earl.
Oh yeah havent played Secret or sword of mana.
Loads. Some notable ones are Metal Gear Solid, Gran Turismo, Gears of War, Halo. The list is endless.
castlevania bloodlines can't wait to play it on the MD mini. Final Fantasy 10 for whatever reason I skipped it.
I rarely have any form of backlog, however Persona 5 and Dishonored 2 are on my list to play.
With any luck, still this year.

3DS version is drastically superior. It's not even debatable really, more content, the dynamic cutscenes, no screen tearing or FPS slowdown the original version was infamous for.
The P.C., Mobile, and Playstation ports however are bad, very bad.

Earth Worm Jim looks visually nice but found it plays poorly, the second game was a huge improvement despite those weird mole-rat levels.
ToeJam and Earl, I backed the new game and find it the definitive version of the series. But it has been a few years since I played the original.
@robert_sparkes: Bloodlines is excellent, the most underrated Castlevania imo.
@RSM-HQ: I'm not the biggest Chrono Trigger fan so I was just making an assumption. I played the PS version with animated cutscenes and slow loading. I've generally heard people prefer the second Earthworm Jim which is probably why I went with it first. I'd like to play both Toe Jam and Earl games at some point.

Woah, I had no idea it was available on the 3DS. I'm guessing as a download via the Eshop? I'll probably go on ahead & pick it up seeing as it's the easiest way for me to get my hands on it.

Ah! I guess you made a typo meaning to say the DS game seeing as I can't find it on the Eshop. I'll go ahead & pick up the DS version then.
Earthbound, Chrono Trigger, Parasite Eve, Legend of Dragoon.
Pretty sure plenty of more good classic games.
@speeny: Yeah sorry Speeny for any confusion. That is indeed a typo mistake, rush forum translations is just at times a force of habbit. Never intentional, sometimes just in a hurry and cannot check over for clear context.
Chrono Trigger is a DS game but it also fully functions on 3DS systems. Physical version is the one I own.
@speeny: Rarely check the price for older games I've owned for at least a decade. Shame it heavily went up in price, though to be expected I guess.
Hopefully Chrono Trigger gets a proper Switch port and they get the DS edition. I'm not really a fan of the online retro service and how they handle it personally. It's inferior to virtual console.

I'm not a fan of it either. In terms of the virtual console I only owned a Wii U for a very short time so I never got to experience it. Neither on the Wii.
To think that the Switch is imo the most appropriate console for the VC to be on...& we don't get it. :(
@speeny: Nintendo saw a lot of Switch owners paying the subscription. It is inherently worse to virtual console, but if you look at a profit sheet seems like the opposite of a problem.
Oh well, Chrono Trigger isn't a Nintendo IP so can always be sold physically and digitally. And Switch clearly has a healthy retro market. We got CastleVania games recently despite quite a few being Nintendo console ports. A few other examples probably exist as well outside my played selection.
A big one for me was Resident Evil 4 until last week. Wish I hadn't waited so long because it's terrific.
