Spider-Man 3 just came out and it was okay, Pirates of Caribbean looks nice, but gameplay is boring, Shrek the Third, Transformers and Fantastic 4: Rise of Silver Surfer are also looking good, but will they really be exciting? I doubt it.

What was the best game-to-a-movie (or a movie-license) you ever played??

Mine was Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay.

Definitely Chronicles of Riddick for me. I think the freedom to develop the character's backstory without being restricted to the events of the film is really the best way to go for any movie tie-in because we want to spend more time with the big screen characters but what works on screen is unlikely to be what works best in a game.

Given that it was a movie tie-in and one to tie in with a mediocre film at that, I expected almost nothing from the game but it really blew me away with atmosphere and gameplay. Fundamentally it understood the appeal of Riddick and created a game around that, rather than directly around the film itself. Perfect result.

Goldeneye 007, people always seem to forget that it was based on a movie, other than that Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay, and Spiderman 2 was pretty good.
