I have not played that many Indie game. I find that they are not innovative or refined.

Legend of Grimrock was one of the few I played. Even then I found the combat weak and the game play is limited.

Torchlight. I'm really hoping they port Torchlight 2 to the 360. Minecraft is a very close 2nd.

Not innovative!? Indie games are considered the most innovative games.

I have yet to see one thing in any indie game I look that made me say that is innovative.

I meant no offence friend. It's just so much innovation in Braid where you have to use time to clear the levels.

Torchlight II so far, but Trine 1 & 2 are starting to look really appealing to me as well.

Edit: Especially with it now being in the Steam sale, Trine 1, 2 and the 2 DLC for just a bit about 7 bucks :o

Anyone, worth it?

Haven't really played through any game that would be considered "indie." Form what I've seen there are very few Indie games that are truly "innovative." Not to say big name devs are any better, I'm just saying that people tend to overvalue Indie games. Not saying any of them are bad though.

very few independent games are actually independently published, but a couple of my favorite games that get lumped into that category are limbo and everyday shooter.

VVVVVV, followed by Super Meat Boy. SuperTuxKart is also really good (especially after the last three major updates in the last two years), but that is really more of a free and open source collaboration.

I wouldn't say its innovative. Clever, sure -- very, in fact -- but new? Nah. Games have messed with time manipulation plenty of times before.

Bastion is probably the best I've played. FTL, Legend of Grimrock, Trine, and Lone Survivor are also really good.

What about Timeshift? If is a FPS that you had to use slowing time and revering time to get through some parts.

Minecraft and Hotline Miami. Besides those I would recommend Torchlight series, Project Zomboid and Xenonauts.
