Best game of all time.

Shadow Of The Colossus on PS2: Here's the criteria -

- Imaginative

- Innovative

- Emotive

- Beautifully rendered

- Hardly any storyline

- No small enemies or side missions

- Epic soundtrack

- Collosi designs

- Genius puzzles

My opinion, but I will simply not accept being swamped by Final Fantasy fanboys, it is good, not the best.

Top 3:

1. Shadow of Destiny, all I can say is the story is one of the best I have ever seen in a video game, the voice acting for the PS2 version is kind of poor but I liked it.

2. Half Life 1, WOW the first real First Person action shooter game that set the tone for all action games all together, from its little puzzle aspect to the flawless of action and the cool plot, defiently one of my favorites

3. Balloon Fight, NES, who doesnt love attacking players on balloons!

Chrono Trigger

I've played alot of games over the years. My personal favorite is Zelda ALTTP. Most that say OOT is the best it was thier first Zelda and never experianced ALTTP when it first came out. The scale of ALTTP is the largest of any Zelda. The inclusion of the Gorons and Zoras in OOT was just horrible. OOT lacked the detail that ALTTP had. Personaly I thought Banjo was better then Zelda.

Well then, I don't think you'll like my "best game of all time" choice: FFVII

Intriguing story, memorable characters (both playable and non-playable), a plethora of extras and side quests, and numerous "challenges" to give you something to work for after beating the game.

Tetris. The 1992 Spectrum Holobyte PC version in particular.

Of all the games I've been playing since the late 70s, there's no other game I've played as regularly - so far I've been playing the PC version for around 18 years.

While I like older games like Pong and Galaxian, I don't play them any where near as often as Tetris and while I think Battlefield 1942 and the GTA games are amazing, Tetris gets more of my free time than they do.

Provided I can still see and have fingers that move, I can't see why I won't play this game until I become worm food.

Shenmue for me with Metal Gear Solid a very close second

Shenmue=beautiful, revolutionary, compelling, and fun

MGS=the first cinematic experience in a videogame that TRULY felt cinematic to me

Super Mario Bros. 3, Chrono Trigger, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Earth Bound. If I had to pick out of those incredible games. CHRONO TRIGGER!

Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistance.

My favorite games are the Banjo tooie, and DK64. They both graphically blew other games out of the water. They were even pretty comparable with some PS2 games, plus they were both pretty creative, and just plain fun.

But my personal greatest game of all time is Tales of the Abyss.

-Extremely fun combat system, I often run into monsters to start battles on purpose.

-It's very story driven, I feel a connection to the characters by the end of the game.

-It's a long game that takes at least 50 hours to complete, so you know you're getting your money's worth.

Hm... it's a hard sell to say one game is the best ever... but if I bring my personal opinion into it, I'd say Star Wars: KoTOR

Criteria:

-Incredibly well told, written, and executed storyline

-Characters are some of the best in any game ever, and are completely fleshed out, not just in the story, but they all have additional, personal stories to uncover as well.

-Social links being added for pretty much every named character allowed for the world to take that much more depth, every character had a story.

-Awesome battle system

-Dungeons are great

-Persona Fusion system is excellent, with a large number of potential Arcana

-Monster designs are very unique

-Perfect length and difficulty

-Epic boss fights

-One of the best soundtracks, ever

-Great artistic design

-The story leaves the perfect balance of explanation and mystery behind things like the Television World, the Velvet Room, Igor, etc

Overall its as perfect as you can get. Its the only game in my mind that can compete toe to toe with Ocarina.

Pff, the toughest question in gaming. I don't dare pointing out a 'best game ever' because it all depends on whichparameters you use. A game like Goldeneye was revolutionary and is still one of the biggest monuments in the FPS genre and gaming in general, but it's also horribly outdated, and claiming that today the experience would be better than Crysis or FEAR would be absurd.

I'd say if we're talking in terms of influence, Super Mario 64 at least is one of the best. Without it, games like Ocarina of Time and Grand Theft Auto III would probably have never seen the light of day.

In terms of quality, Super Mario Galaxy 2 is a big contender, due to the incredible amount of polish, fluidity and creativity. It is the best 3D platformer ever, and one of the best games to date.

When it comes down to incredibly deep, immersive, convincing gaming experiences, I'd say Metroid Prime 2 and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl are good contenders. But this criterium is definitely the most subjective.

I prefer to speak in favourites, and then I'dlist games such asPaper Mario (N64), Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath (Xbox), S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series (PC) andSuper Mario Galaxy 2 (Wii).

First three of them are extremely innovative and create a sort of undenible climax perceived when you play them, really involving,

I prefer Ico to Sotc for more emotive feelings and you have those feelings attched to main character and starring partner as well as,

MGS1 is considered in various top 10 all time games and deserves its spot, grade of involvement in taht game is exponentially high, for istance look at psycho mantis battle, feelings overcome play really, unique

Resident evil, i played original though i prefer Remake for more reasons, more options, more interactivity, awesome graphics and sound good, some best written and story seems most convincing, read my review to convince yourself this is a more complete product

At The end Tetris, the epitomy of puzzle game, game most cloned of all times but original is just unbeatable

The first Zelda game I played was the one on Game & Watch (which I still have actually...), the second one was ALTTP (when it had just been released) and the third one was The Legend of Zelda on NES. I played the hell out of ALTTP and loved every single moment of it. However, I did play (and like) OOT more...
