APEX Legends vs Fortnite

I didn't have a chance to play APEX Legends yet, but honestly, I don't know what's the big fuss - how different is it to Fortnite? What do you guys like about this game? Should I play it just to check it out? (Honestly, I don't think I would get hooked on it)..

Apex is my preferred BR game right now. I loved Titanfall, and it has that Titanfall feel to it. It's fast paced, the Legends are fun to play as, the ping system is phenomenal where it's easier to play with randoms and people without a mic.
