Anthem is fun for the first few hours untill you realise that at around lvl 17 the story abruptly stops and you have to grind to unlock tombs that basically contain nothing, the weapons all look the same except for a change of colors, every single thing for your javelin in terms of the gear, it is the same icons, they didnt even bother to change that, the descriptions are flawed, when you join a free play session prior to reaching max lvl and run in to a Titan, the rest of the team is faffing about everywhere else leaving you to fight the titan alone wich end up with you getting your ass handed to you , attempting to communicate with someone in freeplay end up in people being non responsive (this anti social egotisitcal disease have become quite common these days, its sad that people no longer socialise in games that are intended for socialisation, so .."stronger together" my ass. ) i like the flying in Anthem, the enviroments are great, the npc´s could use some work, the acts and the updates planned for this game is repetition of things that people already have played for the most part , and the rest is just a bunch of semi hidden things except for the cataclysm event that is sometime in July or something like that, overall i think that it is a pity since there was so much potential in Anthem, but strangely the things i mentioned above, the same weapons and gear apperences thats just bad that they dont even bother to make anything unique so people actually would want to work towards it, but instead want to sell that through various cash shops or place them in later elusive updates that will never end up happening because by then EA will be smacked so hard by former fans that they forget their own name, greed does not pay, and selling a product that is not finished and peeling off parts of the game to monetise it later on for those that wish to be a part of the game and have fun, thats just shameful, EA deserves to go broke in my opinion, and if this is what Bioware presents in the future then they too deserve the same route, so does every single developper that uses the disgusting "games as a service" EA model, and Activision/Blizzard along with them if they proceed to listen to a scummy company that does not have any consideration or response to their costumers regardless of any issues they might have , the thought process that once the product is sold they dont have to give a shit about what any gamer has to say, prove them wrong people, they dont deserve to exsist, and dont be conserned about not having games, there is and will always be new companies arising, people wanting to make proper content where you pay a one time fee to purchase it, and then everything that is made for the product is delivered for that sales price, then expansions can be made and sold just as it was in the past, anything else but that is unaccepteble, show them that we gamers have a voice, and our voice is our wallet.

Don't buy. Got it

Already seemed like a wise idea considering the negative press, and that EA have already heavily discounted the game.

Two friends of mine who bought it. One has already returned his copy, and the other 'is hoping' the patches make the game better and refuse to play more till it's competent.

@RSM-HQ: i wouldnt hold my breath on their future of fixing Anthem, the thing is even their plans for future things to do is flawed, its full of repetitions the "outlaw outrage", the "Cortex Locked" "new items" without disclosing anything about what sort of item, weapons? , gear? , it does not say , in my point of view it just proves that they have not even planned what to do they are wining it, but feeding the gamers something that they think might appease them for a while for long enough untill they can figure out what they actually intend to do, the "store refresh" well thats just replacing items in the shop, the Cataclysms that people are supposed to be all riled up about is the first thing that could be any form of content, another thing is that the stronghold bosses is mostly the same thing you can run in to out in the world, just instanced, same for the mobs, its nothing but rehashed content from one end to the other, the only thing new in this game is the flight mechanics and the pretty enviroments of the world, other then that 98% of the mobs are the same. here you can see what im saying to prove my point, notice just how many repetitions there are in this roadmap. https://www.ea.com/games/anthem/acts?isLocalized=true , this is not ok, selling content to people that should have been in the game from the start, every bit of content, but is sold through the various games as a service shops that EA orchistrated, dont accept it one bit , EA and greedy developpers are never going to change, so stay away from their products untill they go broke, so we can get a new company to take its place, one that hopefully will have learned the lesson not to be greedy.

@Steffen_P28: It's ok, my money was always on Iceborne not Anthem.

Just glad some have moved past the buyers remorse phase and being honest about the product they got from Bioware/ EA. It should all make sense to those who had hopes, Bioware was just not cut-out for this kind of genre at all.

It's a shame that I saw this coming a long time ago, commenting about the realistic possibility that Anthem makes no sense, especially from a developer struggling to make its own style of game previously (Inquisition and Andromeda). And made this statement a few times right here in GD

Loading Video...

But only remained hopeful for the Bioware fans who convinced themselves Andromeda was the "B-teams problem". Thinking that 'main' Bioware could move out the linear story focused comfort-zone, and pull off a completely different genre. . requiring absolutely different coding, balancing and other technical masteries is nonsensical really.

While I'm not going to state Bioware 'has no talent'. Far from it, they have a very clear target audience that love stories and characters making love with each other (accept it). However Bioware certainly don't have the skills or know-how for this kind of game. After six years it shows they struggled and ended with one of 2019s biggest disappointments.

Some of those Bioware fans had hope for Anthem, and while that's cool. Sometimes it's a good idea to consider the cold logic behind a development, and if something doesn't seem right.

Anthem is a good example of people learned the lesson that anything from Electronic Arts should never be trusted.

It's maybe one of the worst games I've seen in a long time, and not bad in a way you can make jokes about it like Big Rig racing or something....

It's just AAA and stuff so people are trying not to say it but it's true.
