does your life makes any sense ?
It's all the same regurgitated shit. How many assassins creeds and cod games do there need to be? Developers aren't innovating they're producing the same shit over and over.
Yeah, because Assassins Creed and COD are the only games being released in the entire industry. /sarcasm
There has never been a bigger diversity of games that are unique and innovative and appeal to different audiences.

youre eyes must be full of shit if you only see shit
there are actually a shitload of different games these days, more than ever
..but i guess youre one of those pimplefaced young fellas who do nothing but spreading hate, if youve lived in the 80s already, with having nothing more than 3 genres of games....shoot-em-ups, beat-em-ups and jump-n-runs....youd probably know what you have today.
That's funny because I'm having a great time with all these awesome new games. To each their own I guess.
A lot of game series have become repetitive, but that isn't grounds to call all modern games boring, try looking through a more broad scope
Oh for ****'s sake. It you're going to bring up the old man's "GAMES AREN'T WHAT THEY USED TO BE URRRRHHHH" debate, at least attempt at making a worthwhile opening post.

He's till not answered me though. Games are better now when it comes to gameplay than they were before. Mario was way more repetative back in the day than the new ones are
Yes you are absolutely right I played lots of new game but I didn't like the each one. I only like the old games and waiting for the new interesting game.

You have the option to quit gaming if you don't find any new game worth playing.
ok fellas here is a serious tip for everyone who thinks games got boring these days:
go out! have fun! meet friends! go ride a bike! do something else than playing games...
...then one day probably you will have fun again with the games available these days

Here's a crazy idea. If you're looking for innovation, maybe don't buy Assassin's Creed 7 and Call of Duty 11 and try something else...

I haven't had this much fun with gaming since I was young.
Game quality has gone up exponentially since the 1990's. There were a few rare masterpieces that came out every year or two... now we as gamers have a hard time keeping up with them.
@Cloud_imperium
Total War ? Yes
Divinity ? theres something off about it... I don't know what it is.
Has to be stats .

I agree with you. In general most of games released today is the same shit. But there are still good games out there. Go play some indie games mate. They give you more than enough entertainment for less money while we wait for a major quality release. Dont spend your money on shit like I did when I got my PS4. DriveClub, Shadow of Mordor. Evil Within for example. That's almost 200 quid that could have gone to something better instead. Like charity lol.
And don't listen to Lulu_Lulu. He doesn't hava a clue of what he's talking about.
@ShepardCommandr: not really, how many games from 2014 will we remember as classics in years to come? a handful of wii games? maybe the odd one or two non mainstream games like dark souls 2? op is clearly being over dramatic saying gaming hasn't been the same since the ps2 era but as far as the last year goes he has a point.
the majority of big games like titanfall, wolfenstein, destiny, thief, watch dogs, evil within have, to me, all been various degrees of disappointing. it's not that i'm losing interest in gaming, i've enjoyed catching up with my backlog and revisiting some favourites this year but as far as new releases go 2014 has been a washout for me
I think the problem with this is that games get hyped up so much and when they finally get released you instantly see that there are many of features missing or the fact that they look cool for only 15 minutes. Like in watchdog, at first I was like "woah you can hack other people phones" & after a few hacks I got bored with it.
I think that gaming in general has improved since the 90's and early 2000's. Sure, there's still many games that aren't my cup of tee, but for the games that I do like, I have been enjoying them more than in the 90's and early 2000's. That's not to say that I don't enjoy playing older games sometimes though.
@Cloud_imperium: what Total War? Rome II?
If you want to try Rome 2 then buy Emperor Edition . Original is a mess . Shogun 2 is my favorite .
There has always been franchises that get sequelized a lot. Since you mentioned two, I'll mention two.
Final Fantasy? Mega Man? How many games were in those series during the 90's/2000's?
Gaming has never been better. Nostalgia is sometimes not a good thing. Also as others have said, don't buy those games if you don't want to play them. There's plenty of other options, and indie games as well.
I would agree on the argument that most top tier AAA games have grown incredibly stale. The cost to make them simply too high to take risks.
We do however live in a really odd period in gaming atm. Indie games and the revival of AA games through digital only (usually) gives us alot of what we lost at the 7th gen.
But if going strictly for AAA games most of them indeed feels like "same old shit" and oddly enough often seems worse off then prior games often due to "streamlining" (also known as "we do not believe that you are capable of thinking".
To be honest the AAA area of the industry have been a huge letdown for the first years of this gen (from Wii U launch farwards).
There is indeed a problem when you can hunt Down games that are 4+ gens old, and find that the gameplay/design and stories were alot better then what we see now.
So I think I would put my Money on smaller scale games if I felt like the industry had stagnated. And anyone disagreing, find me games from AAA standard that is new, original, and does not rely over lazy polish to sell thier games (and is out).
@Lulu_Lulu:
I agree with the OP a little bit. We just don't have that innovation anymore, maybe it's because everything has already been done. I just haven't been wowed by a game in a long time, the way games like Super Metroid, Crash Bandicoot, Ocarina of Time, Goldeneye 007, Legend of Dragoon, Silent Hill, Contra, Wolfenstein, etc used to do.
I think I know why you feel like that.....
Console player right ?
Yeah thought so....
Come play on PC..
You'll get overloaded to the Planes of Oblivion.
