I'd probably recommend things like Mario Party or Mario Kart if they aren't that into Gaming. They're good for easing people into gaming. Wii Sports or Wii Resort is also something you might try.

Don't go full on Left 4 Dead 2 and such right off the bat. Given time and if she shows a interest in it then you can.

Oh and be patient, you may be used to games but she isn't so she is gonna do mistakes and struggle so only help her if she requests some help.

Well you make this pretty hard to answer when you don't tell us what system you have.

Thinking of multiplat's I'd say the LEGO games are great co-op, easy to learn and funny.

Oh Snap ! I know the perfect game ! :D

Disney Infinity ! You guys are gonna love it. Its on every platform and features multiple expansions in the form of Playsets and if by some miracle you finish all those then you can head on over to the Toy Box and make your own games in a variety of Genres, all with Local Co-op..... :D

Mario Kart (someone else said it)

Super Mario 3D World

Donky Kong Tropical Freeze

...a ton of Nintendo Wii/Wii U games. (Raving Rabbids, Boom Blox, etc.)

Monopoly, Life, ( my wife loves board games so when she found out they made videogame versions...well you can guess)

Call of Duty is fun and split screen local and eventually she'll get good. My wife easily places in the top 3 for free for all for the majority, and when I first taught her (COD4) She couldn't even walk and look in the same direction lol.

I don't really play too much games with co-op mode, but the I've really enjoyed what I've played of the LEGO games (Pirates of the Caribbean and Harry Potter). Oh, and Beyond: Two Souls was pretty awesome in my opinion, as well.

I have never been on a date or have a girlfriend, but I like to think an arcade is the best place for playing games with someone. Nearly all games there are easy to pick up and play. But I would ill-advise that the you spend your whole date time at the arcade. I would say only spend a fraction of your time there or your date might get bored (or not). It's best to go to an arcade that is surround by a plaza or a boardwalk, just so you have other options if need be.

Mario Kart 8 seems a safe bet.

I just bought it a few minutes ago and gf's response was simply "OH MY GOD YES" - and she doesn't even play much besides The Walking Dead and some platformers.

Try Kirby's Epic Yarn. Even though a bad player can hamper the enjoyment a bit, it's Kirby, and the bad player won't even know they're bad if you keep your mouth shut.

Definitely any of the Mario Kart or Mario Party games (though you may as well get the newest ones you can), they are extremely fun multiplayer games to play with just about anyone.

Rayman Legends (or Origins), best co-op experience for me.

some girls are disturbingly good at shooters, so maybe try a Halo game on Co-op, those are fun to play with other people through the campaigns.
