Get a DS, you can play all the GBA games on it and the DS ones. And dont lissten to the guy who said touchscreen and microphone is anoying, he says that because he doesnt has one. The touch screen is great for startegy games and not all the games use it, and the microphone is awsome, not all the games use it, but games like Metroid Prime Hunter and Custom Robo Arena have voice chat via the microphone on Wi-Fi.
sooo you dont know which one to pick ill assist you. ok so the DS plays both GBA and DS games but the only thing it dosent play is GB and GBC games and no GBA to GC connectivity for that you might want to hold on to an old gameboy color or buy a GBA if you still have one and want to play old GB games. If anything just pick the DS youll be alot happier than a GBA

Good lord the stupidity that travels these boards. Anyway, get the DS. It has a GBA game slot, so it can play GBA games as well as DS games. You can also play GBA games backlit for the first time on a portable ever... Excluding the micro.
You can play GBA games on a DS... I wont lie you DS is better, playing a GBA game on a GBA isnt better when you can play it on a DS and at the same time you can play DS games in it... dont you see which is the best option

Whish you would pay attention once in a while... You missed the fact that the GBA and DS Don't have anywhere near the same graphics, and the fact that he already owns one, and what do you know, he also dislikes it.
I don't have DS, but my friend has one and she says the touch screen can occasionally get annoying. I'm more of a GBA or SP fan, so I think that's what you can get. I think you could easily buy a GBA or SP cheaper than you can get the DS. Definitely get the SP.
I think DS, the DS can play gba games and ds games the only thing is that it doesn't play the older ones for gameboy color. i think the touch screen is fine, if u get annoyed of it once in a while take a break by playing gba games

well.....yes but his point was that the gba itself has a huge library....he never said the ds couldn't play gba games.....and his other point about the touch-screen and mic was that they are annoying....which they are imo
I'd say get a DS. it can play both DS & GBA games, and also has its own awesome games (Mario Kart DS, Animal Crossing, New Super Mario Bros., Yoshi's Island DS, and many, many, many more) to choose from. in June, Nintendo is releasing a web browser for DS, so u could go and post on this message board while on ur DS. all a GBA can do is play GBA, GB, and GBC games, and nothing else. the DS is definately a better investment (oh, great, now I'm talking like Microsoft & their 360... gotta stop...), and Nintendo can expand on it more. or u could get the GBA, which no1's making anymore games for. but, it's your decision.

Also, the DS can't play original GB and GBC games, so the number of games that can be played on a GBA is thousands more than what can be played on DS.Â
