It seems like Final Fantasy fans who bought the Xbox 360 over saving for a PS3 may not have been in vain! Blue Dragon looks pretty awesome and so does Lost Odyssey. Blue Dragon is being developed by the Chrono Trigger team, and it looks like they're staying true to their original formula, which is something I totally love. They haven't shown any Lost Odyssey combat system yet, but I'm sure it's damn good. Makes me proud to see Microsoft finally getting some good JRPGs.

How does this tie to FF you ask? Mistwalker, the company who is developing these games have guys from the Final Fantasy series working for them as well as Nobuo Uematsu.

I can't wait! These games will hopefully take away from the loss of not being able to own FFXIII, or PS3.

Hironobu Sakaguchi, the creator of the FF series is the founder of Mystwalker. I'm looking forward to playing some of their games.

A few months ago I brought up a topic about Mistwalker creating some rivalry with Square Enix. But I think everyone didn't take the topic seriously. Well, I have say I told you so. I'm getting both of these games.

In lost odyssey it looks like all you are fighting is robots.  Why don't they have people as enemies?  I would like to be able to cut somebodys head, arm or leg off during a fight.

I agree lol I'm a true sony fan. (nothing against Xbox fans though) I don't have the money for one anyway .

I wouldn't make comments against Microsoft's hardware after what Sony recently went through... Anyway if you make a Japanese XBL account you get access to all the TGS stuff. A Lost Odyssey demo is rumored to be on there soon! I don't understand all the Japanese gibberish on the XBL marketplace, but if I find a demo, I'll keep you guys posted.

I was referring to the Dell recall. It was the largest electronic recall in history. Basically, the laptop batteries (made by Sony) would just spontaneously combust, aka, light on fire. They had to recall every single laptop. Apple too is still in the process of recalling their products, I think iPods. Imagine your pants just all of a sudden catching on fire because of a cell phone battery or iPod battery. I don't really know too much about the recall, I had a discussion about it a couple weeks ago in Economics.

I didn't make this topic to start a fanboy war over which system is better. I wanted this to be about new exciting games coming out, not about why the PS3 is better. Last thing we need is people spamming their biased views about game systems, there's a system wars topic for that. I'm sick of people arguing over systems.  It was never my intention to have people telling me PS3 is better, blah, blah, blah. Let's please get back on topic here?

Oh man, whatever you do, do not go to the Lost Odyssey or Blue Dragon Message Boards. Just about everyone on there is a scrub who knows nothing about JRPG. It's just sad.

Personally I don't by a console because of the hardware(in a way that's not entirely true). But one reason for anyone to get a Xbox 360(especially RPG fans) is for these two specific games. I buy a console because of what the third party developers have to offer. I wish Mistwalker would develop on the PS3. But having BD and LO on the Xbox 360 is great because there is a much needed rivalry in Japanese RPGs, which means we can have some innovation. Then again most Japanese developers are now creating games for us North American and European players since we our the new backbone for the gaming industry(we're their major source of income).

Besides, just like how I own the PSP, DS, GC, XBOX, PS2, and a nice PC; you can bet that I'll have all three of these new consoles.

These games will own. Hironobu Sakaguchi is at the helm of both of them, and he is the most brilliant mind to ever come out of Squaresoft - and that is saying alot
