The first 40 minutes of Final Fantasy XIII

Yesterday, April 16th, was the release date of Advent Children Complete in Japan. Only a day later, the Final Fantasy XIII demo, which comes with the Blu-Ray movie, was leaked all over the web.

Daxter241 of Youtube, has uploaded footage of the first 40 minutes of Final Fantasy XIII. The video is divided into six parts. The link to those videos can be found below:

The demo also reveals that Final Fantasy XIII will be released in Japan later this year. No release date has been announced for other regions.

I was telling a friend that he was raising that chicobo for a future meal. I like chicken, and I don't know any other brotha who doesn't. I love Sazh, and besides Lightning he's the most interesting character I think. I just hope Phil LaMarr from the old MadTV picks up his role.

It's not totally new. Most of the stuff were already shown in the previous FFXIII trailers.

loved it, loved it, loved it, but i was under the impression it wasnt turn base like that i thought it was gonna be a lilbit like 12, but im glad they did the atb system, nothin wrong with that!!!!

A few, but not many. I've mostly just looked at some updates of the game as they came and pictures from FFXIII...

It looks amazing, but I'm not convinced it'll be amazing.

I'm praying XIII isn't going to be guinea pig for a whole new battle system, like XII was. I believe FF games deserve a lot more respect then that. Thank god it's an ATB, but in detail, it looks like a whole lot more is going on. It's great that it's meant to be flashy, showing off the power of next-gen graphics, but I think this game could be more about that then anything I feel is important in a good FF game.

The game looks top-notch tho...hopefully the English versions voiceover//sync will be as good as what I saw in the demo videos. And voice-acting for that matter. I would hope so...seeing how this game has been in the works for how long? I really hope they don't try and rush the translation and make it really choppy and bland.

But I guess ya can't know until ya play the game...countdown starting at 3 years.

Square-Enix has employed some of the dumbest people in their marketing department. That was basically FREE advertisement. Very few games nowadays get hype on their own, FF is one of them. There are desperate publishers trying to get attention for their games and meanwhile, SE pulls down footage of a demo that is already released to the public. Epic fail, you guys. I remember FFVII RPing on AOL. During E3 in 2004 we sat around in a chat room discussing an unofficial public release of an Advent Children trailer which revealed Tifa for the first time. The resolution was so small, and the quality was horrible. You could barely make out what was going on. But all I knew was that Tifa was beating the hell out Loz, and then she was thrown. That video was up for less then half an hour before SE yanked it.

Well, I meant by what the gameplay is like outside of battle. You know, climbing and jumping and stuff. Such a foreign concept to the FF universe you know? :P
