Which stat do you prefer more, Strength or Speed?

Having a higher strength stat guarantees that you'll be hitting hard with your physical attacks, while having a high speed stat will give the advantage of being able to hit your enemies multiple times.

Well the best thing is to be high in both stats :P

But if I had to choose I would definitely consider the latter. Striking multiple times will eventually cause more damage than a single strong attack. So speed is my desired attribute.

But like I said, its better to have both at a higher range.

i usually boosts my character's strenght at the start, so i can easily breeze through on some areas. Later i can make all their stats higher.

Then again, depending on how high the strength is, speed will be of no use. Eg. Str, damage 150, Spd, damge say 30, it'll need 5 hits to do it. But then again, there are a million ways this will not make sense.

Yeah. I love brute strength. A single hit that can kill an enemy in one strike is very cool. It's quite intimidating.

I have to go with strengh, but only by a hair. There have been battles that I've won because I was quick, (being able to heal quickly, for example).

give me strength or speed almost every time the only time you don't want strength is when you can't hit that speed demon other then that strength.

hit and run is my stile. counters. acrobatic combos. Yeah! Speed is my choice. (maybe because i'm too flat, or because i play football (soccer) everyday =[)

strenght=battle won speed =pissing off enemy and causing them to hit harder killing you when you could have won with strength

i prefer str over spd, but if you have just a little spd then your dmg will by multiplied over time and is good 4 bosses.

Well the bad thing with speed is many bosses have nasty counters. Take Big Bang from Zeromus, you will lose if you attack, attack, attack. You need to only use characters with big damage to fight him.

It's not getting killed lol You can at least evade. With Strength you can hope to live


The problem still lies with the amount of vicous counters you'll be taking with quick attacks. Evasion can't help you much against something like a Big Bang.

Str for me XD. Ive always liked strenght better, never really ben the "theif" or "ninja" with the speed, im more of a "knight" and a "warrior".

I usually go for strength first, just because I like hitting things really, really hard. ;) Normally, I go level all my characters up to the max once I get a good chunk of time to break off in the game, so it all evens out in the end.

That's true in FFXII. In other RPG's it could be different. In FFX for example Auron was so slow and his hit-ratio was low.

Yeah but any boss, or random encounter worth fighting more than once, you can't slaughter in one go anyway more of your ability to survive depends on speed, because it also relates to evasion. I like having one person you can hit hard, one person who can take a lot of damage also and is good for magic and a healer who can dodge, someone to keep all the others going. A strategy based around either strength or speed is gonna fail

Sadly, I'd go for strength. I think speed is a lot more fun but usually there are tons of random encounters, and I prefer to end those as quick as possible = one hit kills ^^

Personally I prefer speed, because then I could attack more times faster... so even if my character is not the thoughest, it can still attack twice or attack once and heal if needed.
