What do you guys think the most efficient item in Final Fantasy is? By efficient I mean easy to get a hold of and has the best possible effect. My vote goes to tents/cabins. They are very cheap and heal you to full health and mana. They are basically elixers, except they won't break your gil bank. The only downside is that you can only use them at save points and overworld. For long journeys, tents are a definite must. In dungeons, you will be way better off with a tent before a boss fight.

Runner up goes to the good old potion. You can easily max out your inventory with potions, and they serve a great purpose. Healing without wasting mana. The only downside is once you get late in the game, you might burn around 10 potions after almost every battle.

The relic from FFVI? I never really used it because I found the game easy enough without having to level up much at all.

Tents for sure. That and those potions that only Rikku can use that heals like 1000 to each member (can't remember what they're called). Easy to get a hold of, and sort of useful at times (especially in the beginning and middle part of the game, when your party doesn't have much hp).

I use white magic more than items, though.

probably phoenix downs. i usually prefer to have more of those than having more potions during the beginning of the game.

I also have to stay at least above 50 potion/high potions and at least 20 tents. I'll never use elixers until the final boss(all thaks to damn FFIV,scarred me for life, sold all my inventory solely for elixers, Zeromus is that damn hard.) Actually, I blame FFIV for my OCD like behavior in all of Final Fantasy. I never used to max out on potions before I played IV.

LMAO I understand you there. Some games you walk away from and go "I'm NOT taking that risk again".....Final Fantasy VI was one of those games and yes Final Fantasy IV.....****. I'll never be the same.

Oh God, Zeromus. Even after stealing the Dark Matter object to half his power, he is still the hardest final boss in the entire series. What a royal pain it was to kill him. None of my characters were below level 60 when I did it, and he still whipped my ass

It took me forever. All I would do is after I threw all my junk with Edge, I would only attack with Cecil while everyone else healed. The Big Bang counter attack was just too brutal to overlook.I myself was only in the mid 50 range. I think Rydia was dead from the first attack, and it wasn't even worth it to revive her since she'd be dead as soon as she got up again. What sucks even more is having to go through all that crap to get back to him when you lose. I saw the prayer seen too many times.

Edit: No matter how many tries, I could never steal that Dark Matter though.

I actually did hurt myself a couple times, slapped myself, cursed myself, hit my head against a wall. Nothing serious though, I can get pretty worked up.Sometimes I just sit there in disbelief, just saying "Somebody please shoot me." Of course, I don't really want to be shot, but it sure seems relieving after dealing with that boss.

Oh, you should see the look on my face during a bad boss battle or after you've been killed for the third time. It's a look that only FF fans know of. It's that look of pure rage. It's also a feeling of, "should I do that again, kill me, why, what the ****,".  Once I threw the controller and accidently hit my best friend in the head (that started a good fight...) LMAO

Steal it before you use the crystal on him. That way, you can get as many tries in as you want. Sometimes it takes ages to get the damn thing

I would have to go with those boots in FFVI that make you move really fast while on the screen as without the boots you are really slow.  You can buy the boots in the very beg of the game.  The other item I like is the item that prevents random encounters seeing as you never have to fight something if you don't want to.
