I ussualy use normal Attacks, i rarely use magic. As for the Guardian Forces i use them only from time to time, just for fun. I loved the way the GFs looke like. :D
Personally, i put THe best GF's with Squall only to give him the best abilities (darkside and mug) and to better his stats. So with him I mug and use other physical attacks. I only draw magic, and even then, I use it purely for the juctioning system. I use GF's in dire moments or important fights only.
lol really? GF's are basically my main attacks, even though I have my characters leveled up to about level 80 (this is the 3rd time playing and I'm on disc 3) Getting their abilites is very fun. I think I might be alone on this one :P

So what would you do if one of your GF's dies in battle? The key with GF's is not only their abilities, but the juctioning system. I find it very unlikely that you will beat the game without a firm knowledge of said system. With strong characters you won't just be relying on the sommons and battles will take less time. Fro anyone who needs help with the juction system, please don't feel afraid to ask me for help. It can be a real b*** the first few times around.
More GF's definately. I love all their entrances. The Brothers are great and it's always good to see Shiva freeze some monsters.elie05
Ohhh Shiva was so cool in FFX. She was a bad*** (lol thought I would add that, I know that's not on topic) . And the Brothers are really cute (or is that just me)
Perfect description from Orasion_Seiz. I think I used Shiva to fight that dinosaur in the Garden training area, then just kept her around for her stats. Aside from Eden, which I hear is really powerful, but have never used, the GFs were only good for junctioning. Otherwise, all you have to do is draw and junction the right spells. I just can't decide which is worse--drawing hundreds of spells, or watching the GF animations over and over again.
VIII was my first FF game, so I was really new to the RPG scene. I tended to use GFs a lot, but I eventually stopped using them. I used Cerberus a little, though.... I really need to start playing this game again (but I lost the disks :( ).

Try to get them used. It's not all that easy to find new copies, after all, it's not 1999 any more.

Yeah, I'll have to check out one of my local gameshops to see if they have a copy. If not, I'll check on the web. I have a feeling one of the stores will have one, though. I mean, last time I checked they had VII, and that's harder to find than VIII (that's what I've heard at least).
I attack and use magic most of the times I junction the GF to boost my characters stats and give them abilities other than that I don't use them except for Ultima Weapon.
Wow, it's been forever since I've been here, or at Gamespot even. I finally got VIII some time ago and am playing it again. I prefer attacks over everything. Magic is probably my least favorite. I just get magic to junction. And GFs take too long. I like to have one powerhouse, in this case Squall, to obliterate enemies.
