FINAL FANTASY EXPERIENCE - ABOUT

Final Fantasy Experience, a.k.a. FFE, is a special interest news-magazine Gamespot union dedicated to Square Enix' flagship RPG series, "Final Fantasy". We cover any and all products and events related to Final Fantasy, giving special emphasis on games, through our news blog and special feature stories.

We are proud to be the "officially endorsed" Final Fantasy union of Gamespot, as chosen by its Administrators, based on our level of quality and activity.

Union Statement: "Guaranteed 100% Final Fantasy!"

Union Mission: To provide a thriving community where Final Fantasy fans will be informed of the latest development and improve their knowledge of the series, through information-gathering, dissemination and discussion; and to engender friendship and camaraderie among people who, although grew in different culture and beliefs, share the same interests in life.

Union Vision: To be an integral part of Gamespot's Final Fantasy coverage.

Union Objectives: These are tough objectives to pursue but, at least, we will have a direction to follow... Something that will encourage us to make this union a better place...

Short-Term Goal/s:

1. To stimulate union activity.
2. To setup the basic framework for our game-specific pages.
3. To design a more user-friendly way of navigating the different sections of the union.

Long-Term Goal/s: Work more like how GameSpot works... (less the bugs, of course. :P)

Continuing Goal/s:

1. Keep the board active; promote friendship and good relationship between members.
2. Professionalize the work and contents of the union
3. Engender discipline and dedication to the officers and members.

CONSTITUION

OF THE

FINAL FANTASY EXPERIENCE

GAMESPOT UNION

PREAMBLE

We, the Final Fantasy and RPG gamers, imploring the aid of Almighty God, in order to build an active and healthy community and establish a great Final Fantasy/RPG-related union that shall embody our ideals and aspirations, promote the common good, develop our knowledge and skills, and make good use of the rights and privileges available to each and everyone of us under the rule of law and a regime of truth, fairness, freedom, love, respect, equality and peace, do ordain and promulgate this constitution.

ARTICLE 1

UNION TERRITORY

The union territory comprises of the Final Fantasy Experience (FFE) union, and all other territories over which FFE has been given right by GameSpot (GS), consisting of the homepage, the stats page, the members’ page, the admin page and the message board.

ARTICLE II

DECLARATION OF PRINCIPLES AND UNION POLICIES

PRINCIPLES

Section 1: FFE is a Games – Fan Club and RPG – General union. This union is created to give Role-Playing Games (RPG), especially Final Fantasy (FF), gamers a place where they can share their knowledge, ideas, feelings, reactions and, of course, experience with the FF Series and other RPG’s.

Section 2: FFE adheres and implements the GS-set Terms of Service (ToS), subject to the allowable exceptions with regard to off-topic posting.

Section 3: Integrity of the officers and the quality of work, Loyalty to the union, Solidarity of the members and Hard-work shall be the daily principles in achieving the dreams and goals of the union.

UNION POLICIES

Section 4: FFE shall pursue a general policy of FF and RPG-related discussions on board.

Section 5: FFE consistent with the union interest adopts and pursue a policy of allowing off-topic discussions as a matter of privilege, subject to the Terms of Service (ToS), Constitution, Rules on Board (RoB) and Off-Topic Rules (OTR).

Section 6: FFE shall, as circumstances may allow, give priority to news, reviews, guides and other informative and helpful things that will improve the gamer’s knowledge and perception of FF and RPG in general; as well as polls, contests and other activities that will engender enjoyable and healthy discussions with between posters.

Section 7: FFE affirms regular posters as the primary force and life-blood of the union. It will do it’s best to satisfy them at all times whenever possible.

Section 8: FFE recognizes the vital role of open communication and information in union-building.

Section 9: FFE shall pursue independent internal and external policies, subject to the ToS. In its relations with other unions, the paramount consideration shall be union interest and right to self-determination.

Section 10: FFE recognizes the vital role of its affiliates in improving the image and increasing the activity of the union. It is willing to cooperate with them in pursuance of each others interests.

Section 11: FFE shall ensure the autonomy of all unions affiliated with it.

Section 12: Subject to reasonable discretion, FFE adopts and implements a policy of full public disclosure of all its transactions affecting union interest.

ARTICLE III

FREEDOM OF SPEECH

Yes, you may have a right to free speech, but not here. When you signed up for the GameSpot message boards, you voluntarily gave up the right to certain kinds of speech in return for the ability to use the boards. If you do not feel that you can follow the rules here, you have the right to create your own message boards and make your own rules there. GameSpot is a private business, and if you'd actually read the Bill of Rights, you'll see that "Freedom of Speech" applies to the government, not here.

ARTICLE IV

MEMBERSHIP

Section 1: The members of FFE are only those who are listed in the members list of the union.

Section 2: Membership may be acquired by voluntary enlisting at the homepage of the union or by accepting the invitation sent through PM.

Section 3: Membership may be lost by manually resigning at the member’s page of the union.

ARTICLE V

UNION ADMINISTRATION AND OFFICER ACCOUNTABILITY

UNION ADMINISTRATION

Section 1: The executive, legislative and judicial powers are vested in the union administrator, but such powers may be validly exercised by specific union officers upon a valid delegation of authority.

Section 2: The administrator shall be appointed on the basis of trust and confidence of the retiring/resigning administrator.

Section 3: The administrator may not be removed from his post unless he decided to relinquish it and appoint a replacement, or by a valid petition by members to the GameSpot Administrator due to his prolonged and unreasonable absence without notice to the union.

Section 4: The administrator shall have the right to promote union members of his own choice to officership whose job is to be determined by him.

ACCOUNTABILITY OF UNION OFFICERS

Section 5: Being an officer is a matter of trust and confidence given by the administrator. All officers are accountable to the administrator. They must serve the union and its members with utmost integrity, loyalty, efficiency and fairness.

Section 6: The appointed officers may be removed anytime the administrator sees it fit, especially on grounds of inefficiency and gross neglect of duty, which includes, but not limited to, not posting on boards and frequent absences.

Section 7: Officers will not be immediately removed from his position despite his violation, unless it is too grave. Upon discovery of a ground for removal, the administrator shall notify him of such ground via PM. If after a reasonable time he will not improve, or if after one (1) week from time of sending of the notice he/she will not reply in the PM, he/she will be automatically removed.

ARTICLE VI

AMENDMENTS AND REVISIONS

Section 1: Amendments or revisions may be proposed by any union member anytime.

Section 2: Said amendments or revisions may be effected only by the administrator upon consultation with the officers (and members).

ARTICLE VII

EFFECTIVITY

This constitution shall take effect one (1) day upon ratification by all current union officers. Non-ratification by any officer will subject this constitution to amendment.

FINAL FANTASY EXPERIENCE - RULES ON BOARD

Pursuant to the FFE Constitution, I, Fantasy Gamer, FFE Administrator, hereby adopts and promulgates the following rules:

Rule 1
GENERAL PROVISIONS

Section 1: Title of the Rules.—These Rules shall be known and cited as the Rules on Board (RoB).

Section 2: Applicability of the Rules.—These Rules shall apply in all areas of the Final Fantasy Experience (FFE) union, including the homepage and the message board.

Section 3: Actions Governed.—These Rules shall govern the procedure to be observed in all the actions and behavior of all posters, whether member or not, while in the vicinity of FFE.

Rule 2
POSTING IN GENERAL

Section 1: How to post.—There are three aspects of posting, namely: creating topics, replying and quoting.

1. Creating Topics is the mode of making a specific thread for a particular discussion that a poster would want to discuss with other posters. You can initiate it by going to the message board and clicking the "New Topic" icon.

2. Replying is in other words, the regular posts you make. It does not necessarily mean reply per se. It includes any other message you post in a particular topic. You can initiate a reply by clicking the "Reply" icon or the "Post New Message" icon.

3. Quoting is like a reply, but it displays the specific message made by previous posters that you want to reply on, along with your message. Quoting is nice, but if abused will result into disruptive posting, which is against the ToS. To quote a message, click the "Quote" icon in the message you want to quote.

Section 2: What to Post.—Anything may be posted, subject to the limitations set by ToS and OTR, but posters are encouraged to make FF and RPG-related posts.

Off-topic posting is allowed in FFE.

Section 3: Who May Post.—Everyone, member or not, is encouraged to post at FFE, but as much as possible, do it in the boards to help boost our union rating.

Section 4: Where to Post.—There are only two (2) areas where we can post, the message board and the homepage.

Section 5: When to Post.—Posters may post anytime of the day.

Section 6: Why Post.—Posts are essential for union activity and will boost union rating, so whenever you are logged in on the internet, try to post in the union.

Section 7: Titling: All official FFE threads shall have titles starting with "FFE:", unless otherwise provided. All game/event threads titles, official or not, shall have a title starting with "EVENT:". All allowed off-topic threads shall have titles starting with "OT:". All other threads (FF-related threads) may have any title, but it would be preferred to have a title mentioning the words "Final Fantasy" or "FF". 

Section 8:  Sticky Threads:

Members cannot sticky any thread.

Regular officers may sticky threads, ONLY upon prior consent of the union leader or affirmative advise of any senior officer. 

Senior officers may sticky threads without need of prior consent, subject to unstickying by the union leader if he finds it unncessary to be stickied.

The union leader may sticky any thread, but it will not prevent any one to voice their comment on the propriety or need of stickying a particular thread.

Rule 3
POSTING ATTITUDE AND BAHAVIOR

Section 1: (a) The following ToS prohibited acts are strictly prohibited in FFE:

1. No offensive Posting! (This will include sexually explicit/racist/hate speech and threats.)

2. No flaming! (Clear insults of other board users.)

3. No censor bypassing! (Not completely obscuring words considered by Gamespot as "offensive/banned".)

4. No illegal activities! (ROM/ISO/Warez/MP3/Cracks Begging and/or Providing)

5. No spamming! (ALL CAPS, large blank posts, multiple hard-to-read posts, mass bumping, of old threads a.k.a. "Necro-posting", etc. This will also include massive use of the "Quote" option in replying to forum posts.)

(b) The rules regarding Trolling will be relaxed with regard to mild or friendly teasing/annoyance only. Other than that, it will still be subject to moderation.

(c) The rule against Off-Topic Posting is totally relaxed, subject to the limitations set in the OTR.

Section 4: Let us all respect each other.

Section 3: Let us treat each other as friends, if not brothers and sisters, here who has one thing in common… That is, we love gaming, specifically FF's and RPG's.

Rule 4
GRIEVANCES AND CONFLICTS

Section 1: If anyone has a grievance or is in conflict with any poster of FFE, let us try to settle it as soon as possible. The posters are the life-blood of our union and a conflict between posters will surely affect our union. There is always the PM, and in cases of issues directly affecting the union, the board is open to be used as a means to air your grievances and settle conflicts.

Section 2: In airing your grievances, keep calm and avoid offensive language. Be objective as far as possible. Let us settle things in a civilized manner.

Rule 5
CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE UNION GROWTH

Section 1: Let us work as a team. Let union interest be the paramount consideration in all things we will do.

Section 2: Be involved with the activities of the board, especially in posting at the boards. The more you post, the more boost we can get at the end of each day.

Section 3: Help in recruiting new members. Invitations for membership can be made at the "Admin" section of our union. In every new recruit we get, we always have a chance of getting a possible union "regular", which can help to greatly improve our board activities.

Section 4: Everyone is encouraged to make and submit their own FF-related news articles, reviews and guides. If you want to contribute one, please submit it to me for editing and we will post it for you.

Section 5: For those who have talent with graphic arts and designs, you may cooperate with Jumbo to make different things such as banners, tags and icons for our union.

Section 6: All contributions to the union shall become properties of the union, except when the materials presented in the news-blog or the forums are mere quotations or citations of the work of another person or website. Nevertheless, due credit shall be given to each contributor for their contributions.

FINAL FANTASY EXPERIENCE - OFF-TOPIC RULES

Section 1: Definition of Terms.

Off-topic post - refers to any "non-Final Fantasy" topic, except those official threads/OT, or those allowed threads/OT.

Official thread/OT - refers to any thread, FF-related or  not, that is recognized as an official act/topic/service/event of the union. All official OT threads may only be made by the union leader, or by any officer upon consultation and approval of the union leader to avoid unnecessary or redundant OT threads by the officers.

Allowed thread/OT -  refers to all other OT threads not considered "official", but was allowed by the union leader upon prior consultation and approval.

Section 2: Any OT post shall not be allowed in the Final Fantasy Experience forums except in the following official threads, unless otherwise allowed:

How to update our homepage news blog?

4 Simple steps: Copy... Paste... Edit... Post!

1. Copy the whole format (for the topic being covered by your article) starting from the end of the broken lines all the way up to the logo.

2. Paste it in the short description space (in the "Postan Update" page) of your article.

3. Edit the "(Put your short description here)" in there with your own short description pertaining to your article.

4. Post your article (once you've finished everything) by clicking the "Submit" button.
