Aeris the Ghost

Alright, I heard about this a while back.

Back when Final Fantasy VII was being made Squaresoft actually had their minds set on making Aeris come back as a ghost later in the game, but they never did it because it was too much for the graphics engine of the PS at the time. That really sucks, because it would've been great. At least that's just me.

Anyway IF Square-Enix makes a remake of Final Fantasy VII, I think that they should put her ghost in there. lol I sound insane, but after she dies, and you don't see her any more, it was kind of a let down.

Adding her ghost wouldn't really change the story at all.

And if I'm remembering correctly she makes a veeery small appearence in Advent Children. But that's not the same thing as seeing her in the game. What does everyone think?

There is an interesting plot analysis on gamefaqs that details rumours/theories regarding the Aeris death. I came across it when I finished FF VII since I was completely baffled by the plot (lets face it, the plot in FF VII is far from coherent). Yes, her spiritual presence reappears as a ghost at the church. But Squaresoft did not include anything else regarding her return. Then it was later revealed that she traveled the Lifestream reuniting with old friends, and enemies before they became one with it in The Maiden Who Travels the Planet. I'm pretty sure if she appeared in other locations within the game after her death, it would have been included in the story. The Ultimania Omega pretty much clears up a lot of things. You definitely have to spend time with the game to understand what exactly is going on. For FFVII fans who did, the UO basically reveals a few secrets that Squaresoft wanted the player to form their own decisions about. But only thing that they'll never reveal is who Cloud loves(Tifa or Aeris). Nomura explained that those specific relationships vary depending on the player's decision, so the love triangle remain until they say otherwise.

For example. Square Enix revealed that it wasn't Sephiroth who had been controlled by Jenova, but it was his own ambitions and will that gave him the strength to become the puppet master of Jenova itself. Of course fans argue this because such information wasn't within Final Fantasy VII and the producers never mentioned anything of it. So basically, in the end Sephiroth wanted to recreate the world in his imagine. That idea was created from a misunderstanding about his past. Then again, fans believe that this is how Jenova deceived him regardless of what the Ultimania Omega reveals. That's completely false because Jenova did not trick him into this way of thinking. But it started when Shin-Ra and Hojo held deception over Sephiroth by not telling him of his root(Sephiroth didn't even know Hojo was his father). Maybe if Sephiroth knew of Lucrecia things might have been different.

Someone not to long ago in FFE gave a link to this. It's basically a translation of the UO with a few notes from the translator. The things revealed in the Ultimania Omega have existed for a long time, we just could never fully grasp the truth due to some of the obscured points in Final Fantasy VII. Definitely in the eyes of many Sephiroth had been controlled by Jenova, but there were a few individuals who thought it was the opposite way around. I guess they were right. lol
