This thread is weirding me out man. O_o
Uh... a few weeks back, I watched Nyan cat for like 30 minutes. :3Â
Me too! :o ...Terrible news. My cat had to be put down. D:Mr_Jenkins
Oh no! That is not good at all, Jager! I'm sad to hear that! *hug*Â
[QUOTE="VideoGamerNerd"]My cats are more awesome than yours. 8) :Pdogfiend
Probably. My cat bites people all the time.
Â
From what I remember I'm not the only one in this union who likes dogs better than cats. Â But I am open minded, this is why I try to know more about it. Â My stepmom also have two cats, and when I take my allergy pills they're quite fun to look at (she lives on the mountain so they often bring back insects inside, which is pretty funny). Â But they still don't play with us, they would rather be on their own.
I prefer dogs to cats. :|
Though this is mainly because of my pets. My dogs, Tira and Angel, are awesome. But Clerance, my cat, is an annoying little bastard that claws at the window screens for no reason. :x
I want to get a new kitten eventually. ^^
[QUOTE="Mr_Jenkins"]...Why did you join this union? D:mariostar0001You could ask "dogfiend" the same question. :P
A lot of people here aren't cat people. Cory and Alex both have dogs. They joined the Catz Clan because of the high quality of the members in the union (ie: Aidan129).

You know it, honey. 8)Â
It came from cats being quite good at not dying when falling from vast heights.mariostar0001
I heard that they actually made a study that tried this. Â From the 22nd floor they threw 10 cats, 3 have survived uninjured, 4 were bad but alive and 3 were never found. Â My physics teacher told me this so I wonder if it can be true.
Of course they couldn't do such a study now, it's qualify as animal abuse and result in all kinds of prosecutions. Interesting though.mariostar0001
You're acting like not being able to throw a cat off a 22 story building is bad. :|Â
Actually, I just think animal rights groups are bad. :P Especially the one that markets their ideas with naked women. :roll:mariostar0001
Alright, cool. :P Some animal right groups like PETA can be pretty dumb, I agree.

It depends, some defend actually good stuff, like pandas or lynx. Â But if I take the seal for example, the first image they will show us is the cute little white fur baby, but this specie of seal is actually in overpopulation, the real endangered seal lives in the north of Europe and is (sorry but it's true) really ugly looking. Â So I don't like that some of them try to get us by lies ... or naked women. Â Seriously, do you really think the audience you get by showing naked women will help you protect your dear animals?

Sex sells.Â
Nyan cat? Never heard of it 8)
Such as the animal rights groups should not have the right to ban construction merely because a single family of almost-but-not-quite endangered whatevers lives there (despite what Disney Channel would have you believe).mariostar0001
If it's just a few, they can be relocated, but but if there are a good number living there, they should be able to stay.

Key words being single family.
I think it depends on what is being constructed and how necessary it is in the first place.Mr_JenkinsOf course, you could argue how "necessary" the animals are as well. Seriously, how much damage to the environment are you doing to move a family of (Disney example here) owls to a different location so you can build on land that you paid for and own?

If that was the case, it'd be fine with me. If it was to build something that we already have a trillion of, like a Starbucks, then it'd be kinda dumb.Â

I believe Starbucks is on the environmentally friendly side, so they'd not build in such a place.[QUOTE="DrAwesomeMD"]Of course, you could argue how "necessary" the animals are as well. I said on their side, not actually joining any group. Meaning they're more likely to back down under any pressure of the sort rather than lose any of their massive fanbase.I did a little research and I know why cats can survive great falls.
When you fall, you have a 9,8 m/s^2 acceleration. Â However, with air resistance, there is a certain speed where you will stop accelerating depending on your mass and aerodynamic. Â So basically cats can survive an impact at this speed, so theorically whatever the height, a cat is supposed to survive the fall. Â They're like ants, if you try, you can see that whatever the height you drop an ant they will survive. Â Hurray for the laws of physics:D.
