How would we go about replicating the CCU somewhere else? At a minimum we would need webspace with membership/forum software..

Sorry that I haven't been on recently.  Internet connection issues with AT&T and 4 weeks of vacation time have kept me away.  It's too bad that I come back and find this to be occurring.  Yeah, I am really excited about the new GS site......Guess I will be removing this site from my bookmarks.  Way to go GS! :roll:

Perhaps we can all still converse on Backloggery.  Does everyone here have an account?

John, that looks promising. Can this be made to look and feel like the CCU? Does it support avatar icons? If this can be made to work, I would gladly jump ship from Gamespot and move there.

That said, what we CAN do is offer Union leaders an opportunity to have their Unions converted into standard, public forums on the new site. This would, of course, mean that they lose the ability to control who can post in their forums, but it would ensure that all existing forum threads would stick around, and their communities would continue to live on, albeit in a different format. We'll be finalizing some details on this and reaching out to Union leaders soon.

you can control the colors and font and background and you can change the header and news feeds as well as buttons and icons and it supports user avatars.

if someone wants to make a site I can still send a global mail to the union members informing them we are moving.... otherwise, it's probably not worth it.

Okay......so the boards can live on with the new format......but wouldn't we be more susceptible to hacking if just anyone can come in???
