And for this reason, I don't think I'll be trying this, "...you will need some soldering skills to do this part. the pins coming off the IC are pretty hard to solder, at least for me they were. I butchered 2 IC's before I finally got it right. "

I hate to carve up one of my SMS controllers, but I'd like to do this, maybe even on a gutted Genesis 3-button one.

Yeah, I will do my best not to ruin any in the process, but since I've soldered various things on Genesis Main boards, I don't think I'll have a problem with this.  I might need to buy one of those handy board holders before I start though.
