Hello!

About 8 months ago, I posted my concerns about the videos for the above game (and its sequel) being unplayable, with the issue eventually closed thanks to the promise that a thorough update will be made at some point in the future. Firstly, I'm glad that an update for this was made available last month (in time for the Star Wars May the Fourth event, how charming), but--secondarily--there's some issues remaining.

For starters, after learning that official videos were released regarding the game's main classes--such as Pilot, Soldier, etc--it became clear that one is missing: the Sniper video, which was listed as Official Movie 12 but now seems gone altogether. It seems odd for that particular one to be missing. This brings me to the second point, which is basically the same thing but broader:

Going back via Archive.org to the year 2013 (link below), it appears that the site once hosted 44 videos pertaining to the game. Currently, only 16 are listed. I'm concerned about the missing three-dozen videos. Ideally, I'd like for them all to return, with their metadata retained, for the sake of maintaining good historical records for a game that sadly has lost much of its history on other sites.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention Michaeluj, i'll take a look today and see why this is happening.

@joshuamobleygs: So, it's been over a week and I'd like to check the status. Can you inform me of any updates?

@joshuamobleygs: So, by this point, it's been two weeks. Should I consign the issue to the status of "never going to be resolved?" I mean, I can wait for however long it needs to, but I'd appreciate at least knowing if there's a solution that's even being planned.

Hi Michael,

Sorry about the late response. With E3 and everything I didn't have a lot of time to look into this issue. I had a chance to check today and did some digging and unfortunately I'm not totally sure what happened to those videos. I went to your wayback machine link and it does appear that we had those videos in our CMS at some point. I went digging through the CMS to try and find them but unfortunately they don't seem to exist anymore. It's possible they were lost at some point during a system transfer, or were accidentally deleted at some point, there's no way to tell.

I'm sad to learn there's no way to restore these videos unless the actual files can be found. I care a lot about game preservation and it saddens me that this is the case, but unfortunately it's more common with websites than a lot of people realize.

Thank you for your patience, sorry there wasn't ultimately a solution.
