Why are some titles very light grey and illegible now?

Why is the text a bit too small now?

...are you rolling out features piecemeal becasue now there is the most pointless of internet fads; the jump to top link. All over the place.

This is never ever ever used by anyone ever you know.

Why don't you make the site work properly in mobile before doing all these bizarre and detrimental alterations?

The graying out is pretty baffling.

Never noticed any diff with text, have zoom on by default.

The gray from after clicking the thread is the worst part I hate on this new UI. Why hide the "Reply/Quote/Flag" buttons but i have to use the mouse scroll in order to see them?

The smaller text sucks, and I cant zoom in anymore or I have horizontal scrolling. Mine is on by default at 175% and now its even smaller.

Are you people high? The greying out is illegible nonsense. I can't even quote or reply because I can't see any buttons to do so. According to someone above me, apparently if you use a mouse and hover the buttons appear. Awesome....except I am on a touchscreen tablet. The incompetence on running this site has always been admirable, in a sick and weird way. But this is a new low. Maybe you should hire some 13yr olds who I am sure would be more competent than your current team.

The addition of the forum name under the thread title is simply awful formatting and redundant.

GS you are making yourselves look bad. No-one will think any less of you if you backtrack a bit.

Hidden hover elements are inaccessible on a mobile device. You have just broken the website on mobile with that one.

Unless you go to the incredible effort of creating a mobile stylesheet...

I normally like change (a "fresh coat of paint") but these ones seem so counterintuitive. I'll echo the concerns of others here.

The greyed out text blends in with the grey background of the site making it harder to read.

The hiding of reply/quote buttons make no sense because you aren't gaining anything by doing so (it was never intrusive imo). In fact, it now keeps shifting the size of posts and requires an extra tap on mobile to reply/quote (yes its just 1 tap which isn't a big deal at all but it's also adding an extra step for seemingly no reason?)

The text now looks much smaller relative to the design of the forums which just looks weird imo.

The inclusion of the board title under every thread title seems redundant too. It doesn't add anything. For example, I don't need to be reminded that I'm in System Wars under every thread. I'd know that I'm in System Wars because I have a reminder for me at the top of the page if needed.

As I said, I'm all for change, but these ones are more intrusive than helpful.

The hidden reply button is the best one. Now you have to do a zig-zag movement to get essential links to appear every time. That is adding seconds and wrist movement where there is no need for it which will add up over time to hours and hours over doing a zig zag movement just to get the reply button to appear.

I know why this is though. Back end dev and management do not respect the front end devs if you even have one. They get no say despite it being a really important role.

The markup is a mess of divs, I've just noticed when a table is actually appropriate in this case. Divs are fine but nests going ten deep on what is not a nested element (ie a quote inside a reply) is confusing to search engines and prone to more problems when working with the CSS files.

Back end dev's probably working in crappy C# at a guess don't give a flying f*ck about markup and will nest within nest to their hearts content if it saves them having to think a bit to make lean code.

This whole site is slowly, somehow, getting worse from a technical standpoint, which is impressive.

The thing that I find most irksome about the new layout is that I can no longer easily tell if new posts that I haven’t seen have been made in threads that I have previously read.

at the risk of sounding like a drama queen, i really can't use the forums any more. scrolling down a page on desktop is so annoying with the hidden boxes constantly popping in and out as i mouse over them.

genuinely don't know why you've made these changes. surely you iterate on your ui based on user feedback? i can't imagine anyone asked for this. if there was anything to go after and make improvements it was the mobile view

The bold font in the thread titles is a eye sore I really wish we could roll back.

The format looked bad in the first place. I don't get why GameSpot doesn't make a simple layout that is easy to read.

It's sad not a single GS Staff has yet to address the situation since the change. Surly GS Staff can't be this busy now?

Thanks for letting us know, this is a bug actually and we're getting it fixed! I'll update this thread once we fix it!

First off, let me say thanks for the response but in the future, please ask us GS users first for testing out anything new features but this was a poor attempt and this was force. Let us test the new features before rolling things out to the public.

This change is awful! I would like to see the last post date shown in topics in the board. Removing that is a stupid idea.

Still can't tell a read thread from an unread thread. They all appear bold font.

The Avatar size (80x80 down to 50x50) in the forums is much smaller and it wasn't like this before the big changes. Please return the original avatar size and thanks.

@angerawr: Terrible change. Seems like someone has broken the site. Give option to switch back to old format.
