Isn't it funny how a year later this site is worse?

Not counting the disastrous, buggy launch, this new site started off with an amazingly large lack of core features from basic forums and stupid design features...

And a year later, it's only gotten worse. Certain forums are still hidden from the main list, page numbers are still listed incorrectly, picture uploading is still cancer, there's still no fucking last read post option, BUT YOU GET MORE ADS THAT ARE OBTRUSIVE.

Oh yeah, and Synthia and Lark take weeks, if not months, to answer how long it'll be before your favorite feature won't come back.

Oh well, they can't take emoticons away from us, right?

While we have indeed been waiting a long time for the features that everyone's requesting, things have certainly not gotten worse.. In fact, there has been a lot of small useful updates to the visuals and functionality of the forums, main site, and profiles over this past year.

I am just mad they canceled the point...

They didn't. It was just on hiatus, and it's actually coming back this week.

I think the forum has become better.

Edit: Just saw that one of your complaints was ads on the site. I never noticed this because I use Adblock on Firefox. If the ads are really that bad then I would suggest getting the addon.

But the site only makes money through ads, so you shouldn't use adblock if you want to support it. And that horribly placed ad above the reply box is getting moved anyway.

It is a joke, but not a funny one. Stacks are buggy and useless compared to game lists; popular boards have either disappeared or have become hidden; levels are gone; spammers take over the game discussion board every weekend; the options for inserting images are very limited; the forum user base has plummeted; and the staff only seems to communicate with us once every blue moon.

I really wish someone from a higher level or even CBS would get involved and take a look, because it's abundantly clear that no one on the Gamespot staff cares about the user experience. It's been almost a year, and it still hasn't gotten better, which is not only sad, but it's unprofessional.

The last time i visited GS without AdBlock an ad slid down from the top of the main page and started playing a video advertisement. That was a year ago.

The visuals are subjective (I don't like the idea of making usernames a dull gray), but Synthia and Lark respond less to us than ever, the ads are more ubiquitous (and I mostly use mobile so I know of no ad blocker there), and we have features that are worse like the delete countdown timer.

I remember how irritated I was when they first ruined Gamespot with the redesign almost a year ago. But now it's just funny. How does this disaster of a site even still exist after almost a full year of sucking so badly?!
