Firefox issue with Gamespot webiste - lag/slow loading

Okey, first of all I'm using

Firefox 3,6,13 (latest version avaliable)

Windows 7 - up to date

PC is not the issue (amd phenom - x4, 4gigs of ram, ATI radeon HD 5700

So whenever i open gamespot it lags, if i'm using tabs (2 gamespot ) it lags beyond belief, sometimes takes up to 15 seconds to even be able to navigate the page. Also the scrolling is never smooth.

But with IE, only scrolling is a little cranky everything else works fine.

Can this be fixed?

PS: and please don't tell me to use IE, as i will never.

It runs better in SAFE mode, still occassional lags but i take it that is normal due to website being mostly flash (internet connection is 20/20mbits, so can't be the cause)

Okay so i went and checked add-ons one by one.

I figured that the AVG Safe Search plugin is the cause for the lags, to be precise the "surf-shield" causes the lag, meanwhile the "search-shield" does nothing.

Thanks for the tip, i would have never thought it was an antivirus issue, since i don't have many add-ons installed.
