No matter what I do there is always a large red banner accross the top of the page saying. "back to Gamespot mobile" clicking this link takes me to the mobile version of the website. This would probably be OK if I wasent actually on my PC.

It happens to most of us sometimes, it'll go away on its own after a few days.

Yeah I've had this crop up quite a few times myself, for some reason the server things the device accessing it is a mobile one and adds the banner as a result...either as the result of a faulty php argument being sent or error in the detection logic itself. Clearing temp files and restarting the browser should reliably get rid of it, but you'd also have to log back in doing that, so often it's best just to put up with it. It's quite possible this won't get fixed until the site remake goes live - which is a rebuild from ground up and will hopefully be far less buggy than the existing site.
