I absolutely enjoyed playing For Honor. I have been interested in the game for a while now but I didn't know if I would like it which surprised me when Playstation and Xbox included it in their free play weekend. Oh! I was psyched! I nearly forgot about it until Saturday and I have to say, I copped the Gold Edition before daybreak this Monday morning! BTW get it while its 50% off on Playstation until 8/22/17!
I'm really glad Playstation and Xbox offer these free-play weekends because it helps curious gamez-ers like myself figure out whether or not I really want to own the game.
Game-play: Challenging and if you let it, it will surprise you. I give it a 8/10. The bosses are challenging especially the Viking leader. Gotta learn how to block and evade. I've never truly felt true satisfaction in wielding a knight's sword or axe until For Honor. oh man and the sudden change to horses-- that was impressive. I was sad about mowing down the Wolves so that was hard for me. Otherwise. Take away that I give For Honor an overall 10/10 for satisfying gameplay, though.
Multiplayer: Fun. 9/10. They have different choices. At least for the FREE WEEKEND copy it offered Duels (PvP or PvCPU), Team or Dominion where its like king of the hill type MP. 9/10 because the players were definitely challenging. I only won 1 out of 5.
Story: Lacking. The only thing holding this game together for me (and worth the discount) is the satisfaction of landing the blows. I'm sorry developers, but the story gets an unfortunate 3/10 from me. The story-line for each mini-chapter is lacking in detail and an immersive story. Please make the story more engaging. Maybe a twist of mystery in your next update this week or in the following updates. I don't want to offend but maybe add some dinosaurs and less wolves. Maybe large lizards. Mammoths. Saber tooths. Crocs. Griffins. OMG...DRAGONS! (in HONOR of Game of Thrones Season 7 ep 4)
Take-away: 8/10. FOR HONOR IS OVERALL ..SATISFYING.
